How is LSU not #1 on that list?

Wait.

Nevermind.

I'm sure I'll get some argument here, but I would take literally any other P5 opening before Miami. What a clusterfrick of a dying program they've become.

Imagine telling someone in 2000 that in 15 years South Carolina and Mizzou would be better jobs than Miami?

Cuse behind some really crappy teams. I'd move them up 4 spots.

Miami is better than Scar and Mizzou. Recruiting and history trump no history and no recruiting

Maryland is better than Mizzou. More money trumps less money

1) USC
2) UGA
3) da U
4) Scar
5) Maryland
6) Mizzou

I would too

and I would drop Mizzou behind them and Miami, maybe even VA, after the clusterfrick their players just pulled

South Carolina is a historically .500 team. Including yearly cupcakes. And this is with these last couple years of out of the world success.

South Carolina is not a top tier job. Not even close in fact. Only reason I give any points is because they are willing to throw big dollars around for hope

This is Senior Day. No body gives a shite about that program. Anyone who thinks, "well tradition" matters is absurd. If you can believe it, the incoming freshman in their next coach's 3rd year or so wouldn't have even born the last time they won a title.

And don't give me the rich recruiting grounds. Duke and UVA are smack in the middle of great recruiting grounds too but it doesn't really matter if no one there gives a crap.

Virginia and North Carolina have a few good players, but c'mon, neither are close to what Florida -- particularly South Florida -- bring.

Imagine being the fanbase of a school that is listed as a top job for such reasons as, and I quote from the article, "the Gamecocks won't be too demanding too quickly, considering the new hire will inherit one of the SEC's worst teams", and "Missouri ended up on the wrong side of .500 this season".

Also such gems as, "Recruiting-wise, while there is plenty of talent within driving distance of Mizzou, it's difficult for the Tigers to compete in the Southeast region with the SEC's traditional powers." and "Replacing the guy who won more games than anyone in school history will create automatic comparisons. It's also in a division with sleeping giants Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. The first of those programs to wake up will be highly problematic for the Gamecocks."

Neither school will get a home run hire and both will stay at the same level they always have

Imagine that in 2000, if you were old enough to know shite from shinola and saw how the Miami program was being run, their entry into the ACC and their piss poor fanbase ... how could you not at least see the potential for SCAR being the better job down the road?

Lou Holtz had just orchestrated and engineered the largest turnaround in NCAA history at the time.

The long term plan for facilities improvements had been made public.

The SCAR fanbase was already legendary - but it went off the charts with the first win over OSU.

Everything was trending-up for SCAR and regardless of the 2000 and 2001 MNCs for Miami, it was clear they had peaked and were starting to trend downwards to some.

Bottom line, the true final nail in the coffin for Miami was joining the ACC. Clearly they could no longer function as a football independent and by 2004 they were forced to join the ACC ... it illustrated a weakness in their model and subsequently doomed them to become a basketball school.

Another salient and telling indicator of their eventual downfall was in 2000 when the Butch Davis sanctions were made public and Larry Coker took over. He was not their first choice, and to some he was even a desperation hire from within. The program melted under his leadership and he handed-off a shite show to Randy Shannon.

Miami had nowhere to go but down from there.

You've made it clear, with every single noob post you've made since joining, that you're a fricktard.

You're consistent, I'll give you that.
