I think Howland was probably the most impressive hire but I think Barnes is the best hire and coach. I just looked and he's made the tournament 22 out of 27 years at providence, Clemson and Texas.

Avery Johnson? Heh

All three seem solid. I'd have no idea how to rank them though. Only time will tell.

All 3 have their advantages and disadvantages. They are all push right now. No ranking will fit.

MSU received a proven winner but kind of sketchy coach not sure if he can replicate without UCLA brand name.
Tenn received a consistent winner but could never get over the hump
Bama received a exciting coach for the program but no CBB experience

I think Tennessee's hire was the safest. I would be shocked if he doesn't have Tennessee in the tourney more years than not.

The other two hires both have higher boom and higher bust potential imo.

That's true. However, things have changed since then. Howland has some baggage.

I think all 3 can make big splashes. Just all of them have some type of baggage.

True...two of the hires have a suitcase full of things...

4 Final Fours, 26 NCAA tourneys, 68% combined win percentage, ect.

Avery - I am loving this hire. Pearl will have them looking for a new coach in 3 years.
