Thanks for your meaningful addition.
Sumlin and Spav still have some proving to do, but Chavis alone demands a Top 3 ranking on this list.

What was Steele's conference coaching record again?

Richt is way better than Sumlin, which should be the ultimate barometer. No Richt-coached team is ever going to lose 59-0.
Overall, the list is pretty spot on, imo.
I disagree. Georgia routinely has one of the most talented teams in the country, yet they don't have much to show for it. That's coaches not getting the most out of the team.
A&M > Georgia, IMO

Why are you scared of Steele and LSU? Let it out.

Over a coach that won a national title and the SEC multiple times, a coach who won the Big Ten multiple times, a coach that got one of the worst programs historically in the SEC to number one for 8 weeks, and a coach that has won 24 games in his first three years in the SEC.
Wow. Just wow.

So your defensive success was dumb luck?
Chavis led your young defense last year to a top defensive ranking in the SEC. He and Pruitt are clearly the Top 2 DCs in the conference, with Chavis having a longer track record of success.
Chavis is the ultimate driver of A&M's #3 ranking

That's irrelevant. He has head coaching experience. What's Chavis' head coaching record?

That doesn't matter. The key is being elite at your current position. Chavis is and will continue to be an elite DC.

Chavis has had top talent to work with year after year...We'll see if he has the same success in Aggieland....I don't believe he does....

The best scorecard is championships won. I love the guy, but until he does, Sumlin and staff shouldn't be considered above anyone in the top six.

Some coaching staffs do more with less and deserve respect for it. With me they get it. It's common sense and the most media outlets have neither that, or knowledge of what they report. Granted a few staffs should be tied at about the same spot. The last several need more time to be acurately assessed, with the exception of one.

Randy Shannon is better than Barry Odom, John Jancek, Robb Smith, and Dave Wommack and he is just a position coach for UF. I know Florida's coaches haven't gotten a chance to show it on the field yet, but they are easily one of the Top 5 staffs in the SEC.

Texas gay&m does in no way, shape, or form have a better coaching staff than LSU. They have a buffoon as a head coach, not mention the 4 straight loss deal. Also we have three men who were head coaches at FBS schools at some point. OP's logic is flawed.

I count 7 angry LSU posts directed specifically at A&M.
