I probably would run into a people I know in the Grove and it's OK but crowded. I rarely go into the true Junction at MSU because it's crowded. I am sure LSU is great - if you are from there. I am sure Alabama is great - if you are from there. Tailgating is about people. To us, ours is the best because we see people we know.

Honestly, Georgia tailgating isn't much to brag about since they nuked North Campus.
What makes Gamedays so awesome to visitors is the awesome post game bar scene. Completely on another level than the rest of the SEC.

The grove is overrated. LSU's tailgates are covered all throughout campus. Ole miss has it in one spot. Big.fricking.Deal.

Sadly, I have to agree with you.
I'm in grad school (did undergrad here as well) and a lot of my friends in my program did their bachelors elsewhere. I definitely catch some grief about tailgating not being what they thought it would and I have to defend myself by explaining they didn't get to see the good old days when we could raise hell on North Campus.

Beer is illegal on campus but liquor isn't. But if you put beer in a cup then they aren't going to do anything. I've talked to UPD while drinking a beer in a cup and nothing happened.

Its just two different styles. I like that I'm close to any given tent and I don't have to walk more than 10 minutes to get to the next one. I prefer that over LSU's spread. LSU still has great tailgating, but I prefer the compactness of the Grove.

I have nothing against Ole Mass's tailgate scene, I just don't really like the packed atmosphere of the grove. Y'all women are fine though.

Ehhh, they've calmed down recently really. They just went on a gigantic power trip after that cop was killed back in 2006, and its been 6 years since then.

Bout how it goes in Athens too. I've heard of people having problems with University and Athens police on gameday, but nine times out of ten, they were probably asking for it. You gotta be acting like a real jackass to stand out most the time.

Ive tailgated in Athens multiple times and never had a problem with the po-po. Sucks about them shutting down NC.
Athens is the best college town in the country in my opinion. One of my best friends just finished grad school at Terry and loved his time in Athens.

Well, what were you doing? Were you drinking straight out of a can? Yeah, they're going to tell you to pour that out. The cops are absolute dicks. But they'll ignore you as long as you pour it in cup. I don't think the cops harass visitors anymore than they do the alumni, and especially the students.

I can't tell you how many opposing fans I give cups to on my walk to the grove because they're just slamming beers out of a can.
