IMO

1. 2011 LSU - won the SECCG, made the BCSNC, finished #2
2. 2012 Texas A&M - won Heisman Trophy in first year in SEC, finished #5
3. 2015 Ole Miss - lost to Memphis and went on probation

And you have some OM posters claiming it was totally worth it.

Is this Saban era or all-time? If all-time, 1978 USC would rank 2nd to 2011 LSU imo.

I'd go with the OP, but I would also say A&M was rolling at the end more than LSU was in their year. Aside from first hole jitters against Florida (3 point loss) and LSU just owning us since we got here (and a little before), that team would have run the table (even though we did scrape by La Tech and The Cheaters).

Uh what? We blew out everyone we faced and it wasn't even close except for the Bama game.

Charles White and Marcus Allen (though not used enough as a Freshman)...that is one heck of a backfield.

So, except for two losses aTm would have gone undefeated? Great point.

Rolling more at the end of the year?

Nov. 5 Alabama W9-6 (OT) Tuscaloosa
Nov. 12 Western Kentucky W42-9 Baton Rouge
Nov. 19 Ole Miss W52-3 Oxford
Nov. 25 Arkansas W41-17 Baton Rouge
SEC Championship
Dec. 3 Georgia W42-10 Atlanta

ETA: that was the year we went victory formation against OM on the goal line with significant time left in the 4th and they year that Arky was a top 5 team under Bobby P.

My point was supposed to be just with how we finished. Body of work probably does tilt toward you guys. You didn't scrape by with anybody.

What? If LSU had won the NC that would have been the greatest season and greatest team in history. We beat 8 teams in the top 25 IIRC and not only beat them but destroyed them. That's why we are so sour about it.

At least a couple of the 5 teams that beat Bama back in '41 were probably pretty good.

We ended 2011 with a 24 point win against the #3 team in the country and a 32 point win against the #12 team.

So no, I think it is safe to say LSU was rolling more at the end of the year

Arky was very good that year, they just happened to be in the same division as two of the GOAT teams. They beat everyone else and whipped #11 Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl.

Just think if Arky was still in the SWC/Big 12 they might've gone undefeated and faced LSU in the Natty instead. You should blame them joining the SEC for the lost title

And a complete crap-the-bed, barely watchable shutout in the last game where you crossed the 50 twice in the whole contest. That has to be a consideration.

And beat the Orange Bowl Champion and the Rose Bowl Champion....not to mention the national champion.

Meh Arkansas would've lost to Oklahoma State in Big 12 play.
