If we're talking overall success, that's slightly different from current trajectory. It's far too early to do this accurately. In a couple years, we can revisit. For now, what we know is:

Tier I

Saban (really, really doesn't need an explanation.)

Tier II

Miles (he may be a fricking idiot on the sidelines sometimes, but no-one can seriously argue with his overall success.)

Freeze (subjective. I admit I think he's a very good coach even if you strip away the gimmick offense. YMMV)

Bielema (not having a great year, but his overall track record including Wisconsin puts him easily in Tier II. He's further down the Tier II list than Miles or Freeze, though, imho.)

Tier III

Mullen (no explanation needed. The guy defines mediocrity. But, to be fair, he's solid. His teams and gameplan are vanilla, but they're rarely actually terrible. There's a reason he's managed to stick around at Mississippi State for five years. And he's still young by HC standards, so he has room to improve. The SEC-W is a brutal place to do that, though.)

Tier Who The Hell Knows Yet?

Malzahn (off to a good start, but SEC defenses will adjust to him. Starting off hot is a lot easier than sustaining it once teams adjust. How he handles this will show his quality as a head coach.)

Sumlin (we need to see what he does without a topnotch inherited quarterback. I think he can sustain success, but it's just too early to tell)

Freeze is tier 1/2? Besides a top recruiting class and beating LSU, what else has happened?

It's subjective, but forget about the W/L column and the like. Watch his teams perform -- they are well-trained and tough to defend against when they have the ball, and difficult to straight-up outmaneuver/outmuscle when they're on defense. They have lapses, but so do Bama and LSU teams

That's pretty good, so I'll only make a few changes.

Tier I

Saban

Tier II ( Too many questions to separate these. )

Miles
Bielema
Sumlin
Malzahn

Tier IV

Freeze
Mullen

I think they're all great coaches.

Miles, Freeze, Malzahn and the rest of the clowns can all fight for the top spot next year when Saban is in Austin.
