How much do our swimming, tennis, and golf shite make up for terrible basketball and below average baseball?

What exactly are we ranking here?

exactly, such ridiculous generalizations are so open to interpretation.

yes UGA's indoor put-put facility is kinda lame, but do they really need a 25million dollar structure for 2 or 3 practices a year?

For that kind of money they could build a new weight room that makes Bamas look second rate. When you're spending millions upon millions of dollars, there should be a certain amount of logic behind it don't you think?

bullshite. Seems like UA announces a new athletic project or renovation at every board meeting. Baseball getting new stadium and hitting facility, softball just got a new lounge and hitting facility, tennis has a brand new facility, rowing has a brand new house on the river, women's bball and volleyball have been moved to renovated and upgraded Foster, etc etc etc. I wouldn't put us at 1 because of Coleman, but to say the rest are dumps is ignorant, even for an Auburn fan with an axe to grind.

No axe to grind, I just see good money being poured into bad facilites. It happened at AU until the last 5 years, they continued to do bandaid fixes to JHS. They spent 20M on a fense and circus tents 10 years ago. It did include replacing urinal troughs with seperate stalls Do not be so offensive, it happens everywhere.

below average baseball?

I'd say Foley Field is looking very good since the renovations. Making Kudzu Hill more fan friendly was a start, and since they're giving the entire stadium seating area a face lift I'd say it's on par with no less than 5th best in the conference. Unless a huge expansion with more premium seating, it'll never reach the level of LSU, Arkansas or Mississippi State. But outside of those 3, I'd say it's on par with the rest.

The only bad facility we have poured money into was Coleman (and my gosh was that a disaster that will hang around our necks for years).

The baseball stadium is a total tear down other than some of the very structural bones. Foster they literally left the skeleton because of that whole historical artifact thing.

In the past, they threw money at Coleman, Baseball, track and field and Swimming Facilities. They were bandaid fixes in order to spend money on the below standard Football Facilities. MM changed the Football Facilites, but the rest was slow in coming. AU was in the same position, but in reverse. They upgraded the Spring Sport facilities and only started spending money on Football infrastructure recently.

i swam at alabama... i have a good idea what our facilities are and what others have. national embarassment is a huge stretch.

Judging by how little seating there is, now, to purchase single game tickets, they'll have to expand. Quite frankly, it's embarrassing that Foley is so small given the passion the state has for baseball. The stadium should be improving at a parallel consistent with the team's success movingforward. If Stricklin gets things back to the mid to late 2000's level, it'll be time to exapnd

I like where we're going with facilities at UK. Major additions to football and olympic sports facilities are underway. On the horizon, a new basketball arena and baseball stadium are in the works. Personal wish list includes a dedicated indoor track and field facility.

Yep - agree. We are building a new baseball facility, though, which will be very nice (not LSU/Arky nice but nice).

We kind of did it opposite of Auburn. Either way, we all got $$$$$ now. Except Tennessee, they are poors.

Well that's good to know. The people I talked to were UGA swimming people in Atlanta so maybe it was just rival spin.

So we all agree Arkansas is #1 in the SEC athletic facility race.

Good deal

In the interest of avoiding a days-long bitchfest with tFlagship posters because I disagree, then sure why not. #1. Woo!

I would trade two East titles in three years for that number 10 spot in the SEC Facilities rankings over South Carolina....
