There is only one recruiting service. If Saban flies to see you, that's a 5-star. If he invites you to campus, that's a 4-star.
He leaves the diamonds to Mississippi State.

Each service kinda monitors other services to make sure they havent dropped the ball...each will sometimes get scoops that others miss.
247 is one of my go to recruiting sites. Its the mnessage boards that are a mess on most of these service sites. Its the same damn idiots who have the sky is falling syndrome.

It's easy to sum up. Rivals was the best, then some of their top people left and formed 247. Rivals still has some quality, but now 247 is the best. So:
1) 247
2) Rivals
ESPN is a conglomerate. Their recruiting site is basically a side-job and, until recently, their grading system and rankings were manipulated to fill quotas on stars. They're considerably below Rivals and 247. So, with a considerable jump below 2:
3) ESPN
Scout's first love has always been basketball. They're pretty good with basketball analysis and rankings but they are terrible at football. They, too, manipulated the assignment of grades and rankings (there had to be a specific number of 5*s, for instance) though I've been led to understand they've discontinued that practice recently as well. That is an improvement, but they aren't actually better at evaluating football. So:
4) Scout

Rivals used to be the best, but 247 has to be the best since they average all the sites rankings together.

At this point 247 is the only one that needs to be taken seriously. Sucks though cause the message board community at rivals is better and more stable.
