Agree they deserved it. But then of course the '64 team in no way deserved their title. Maybe it was retribution for that one.

Glad we can both agree that Arkansas truly deserved it.

not at all. I have nothing against Missouri. If it makes you feel better, you killed Arkansas in your bowl. OU laid an egg in theirs vs WVU. And I just noticed your upside down OU in your sig pic. I chuckled a bit.

And I guess my topic backfired with not even ONE like. I figured this was a legit toopc, but perhaps way too involved. At least I tried.

UT went 3 straight years without losing a single regular season game. So...yes, it was. Now it has been 18 years since UT has won 11 games in a regular season. I'm sure you couldn't imagine going that long without 11 regular season wins.

Did any of those teams get voted a national champ by anyone?

Of course they did. Getting robbed of a national title in 1964 was the high water mark of Arkansas football history.

38 UT did not allow a point, so they're #1

'38 ut was not unscored on. That was the '39 team. Which was then shutout 14-0 by USC in the Rose Bowl.

1994 A&M went 10-0-1.

Just because they shite all over Oklahoma does not make them anywhere close to 1994 Nebraska.

Kentucky wasn't eligible for the post-season in '77 so I'd assume that plays into the no-votes. But that team was filthy with Art Still, Derrick Ramsey, and Jerry Blanton.

I never would've thought that % would be so low. That was a great AU team.

You aren't going to see as many varying #1 votes in the BCS era. While I think the general consensus at the end of the season was that Auburn should have played in the game ahead of Oklahoma, I think at that time especially people were going to side with the team that actually won the BCS Title game.

It was far more common to see a variety of first place votes back in the old days.... In 1948 for example, ten teams received a minimum of 2 first place votes in the final AP Poll. Those days are thankfully long gone.

Good thing you got around the word filter, because I know a couple Okies who can't count.
