1950 Tennessee then everyone else. I loved watching that team.

38 UT did not allow a point, so they're #1
Don't have the time or attention span to rank the rest

Not sure I understand the reasoning for some of these teams to be on the list while others were left off.
What about 2011 LSU?
What about the Georgia teams of 2002, 1982, 1966, and 1959? All of those teams had just a single loss on the season.
What about Auburn in 1958? They were the defending National Champs who went 9-0-1 the next year.
There's a reason why all of the above teams did not win the National Title. But there is a reason why all 20 or so you listed also didn't win the National title. It just seems like a crap list that is missing many other great teams who ought to be in the discussion.

You've given far to many options here, some of these teams are not in the same zip code with the word "championship".
But nonetheless, I will endeavor to answer your question in short form:
1. 1966 Alabama. Look up the stats and results. Any way you slice it, IMHO they should have been #1 at the end of that year. I think this team was a victim of "Bama fatigue" and a civil rights bias among voters.
2. pick'em on everybody else.

Agree they deserved it. But then of course the '64 team in no way deserved their title. Maybe it was retribution for that one.

Nope...that was 1939. The '38 team outscored opponents 293-16 and went undefeated, beating previously undefeated Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl.
