IIRC, the Sugar Bowl has to take the highest ranked non playoffs SEC team in years when they are not hosting a playoff game.
Yea - I think Tennessee has a pretty good shot there.

I have a hard time seeing UF jumping to 15 this week
They jumped from 21 to 13 in the AP

If Aggy wins and Auburn loses, we going. Same record as UT with the head to head.
Head to head doesn't really matter. We beat LSU in 2006, and they still got the Fiesta Bowl invite over us for some reason. On top of that, we had the same record that year.

The superdome will be filled with purple and gold. LSU bought their ticket weeks ago.

The committee would be comparing 2 teams with equal records that played each other. The logical decision maker is the head to head, which Aggy won.

Yea - it'll be close. Deciding factor could be A&M not having Trevor Knight anymore, or they could put A&M a spot higher due to the win over Tennessee. But, it was in OT and it was at A&M, so really that could almost be viewed as a draw.

No, it will be viewed as an Aggy victory over UT.

I absolutely hate that people think this is logical

Everybody has the same record right now and the current ranking is:
Auburn
UT
A&M
We all know that Auburn is going to finish 8-4, and A&M is going to finish 9-3, so what do the current standings matter?

Are you a swamp kitten fan? 2007 era?

Because we were discussing whether UT or A&M would be higher in the rankings.
But thanks for playing

Man. I remember the good ole days when the Sugar mattered. Now it's just one of those things.

A&M won't have the full allotment of players they had in that game, and since their starting QB went out they have given us the following performances
L 28-35 @ 4-7 Mississippi State
L 28-29 vs 5-6 Ole Miss
W 23-10 vs 5-6 UTSA
? W vs 6-5 LSU ?
So, the committee would have a semi-legitimate excuse to not put A&M in the Sugar. No Knight + Tennessee game being OT game at A&M + A&M actively wanting to fire Sumlin + Tennessee fans being jacked about going to the Sugar Bowl (regardless of their feelings about Butch).
I don't really care either way, but you could easily see it happening.

We'd have the head to head over them and the same record. See Baylor/TCU on the final weekend of the CFP selection committee 2014.

Which is already factored into the rankings. That was the whole point.
Go read the thread. If you have any new points, then post it. The committee puts teams in groups. If you're in the same group then head to head will factor in. But right now you would have to jump up a group or two to be in the same group as UT. I think it's a possibility that beating LSU does that but I don't think it's a given.

Except it isn't. Don't believe me? It wasn't for TCU/Baylor before the final weekend. TCU was ranked 3. They lost to Baylor who was ranked 6th. Both won their final games. Then the final rankings came out. Baylor was 5. TCU was 6. The committee mentioned how once it was all said and done, they then used head to head. Come on now, don't get your feeling hurts because the facts are getting in the way.

LSU is pretty much out of it
But not completely. Miracles are still possible.
LSU destroys A&M
Auburn destroyed by Bama
Florida destroyed by Fla St and Bama
Tenn loses to Vandy
LSU could be highest ranked after Bama.
