How is ole miss able to bring in top 10 classes when State cannot?

Oxford=Starkville
Both in a terrible state.

Prior to freeze state was having more success than ole miss.

Seems like proof to me

Starkville isn't nearly as bad as people like to joke about, but it's still not as nice of a college town as Oxford.

Definitely Southaven. Oxford is just turning into an overcrowded town of chain restaurants / stores.

Said like someone who has never been to either.

Never take up a career in science or serve on a jury. You don't have the required skills.

Oxford is like the Oscar Meyer Weiner mobile. It just sells itself.

Not having lazy recruiters.

Not really - even MSU fans would not want their town defined as similar to Oxford.

Eye of the beholder n shite.

Bc Ole Miss had shitty coaches who were lazy @ recruiting, and Ole Miss was a dumpster fire in their AD.

Here's some things that might shock you. People, especially college students, don't really give a frick about a state's overall obesity and poverty rates, and whether it's a few percentage points higher than Louisiana's. That's just totally inconsequential, there are some nice parts of MS and pretty much all college campuses are fun in their own way.

Get the frick out of here with your reasonable explanations.

In the past Oxford was definitely better. Still maybe a tad. But they are close to equal and deep down people that have been to both know this. Starkville has gotten a lot better as a college town and Oxford has declined substantially. It's the perceptions of each that remain.

Oxford is better than ever and still growing. Why do you hate growth and progress so much?
