Is it all field turf besides the pitchers mound?

That's what I'm seeing. They aren't the only team with an all artificial field.

Never seen that before. Must be due to the dry climate in Lubbock

Vandy and ULL also have all artificial field. That just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Think Louisville might also. Even the mound is turf on Vandy's field.

Probably has more to do with lower up keep cost and not being affected by the weather.

It's a weird way to play baseball. There was one field in my county that had them so occasionally we'd play games there whether it was high school or travel ball and there's almost no bad hops and basically every ball, including outfield grounders, come screaming at you.

boy I think Tech got jobbed there. I think the runner was safe at the plate.

Throw was well ahead of the runner but it looked like the runner got under the tag.

It's not a question he was safe. Ump had a terrible angle on the play.

It is a challenge to groom tumble weeds into a nice playing surface.

It's the carpet base paths that are making me itch. Why not go with clay/diet there?

Slides must suuuuuck.

I don't like the logo in center. Nothing is better than the look of grass

Add UTexas to the list...but they have always had turf at Disch-Faulk...prior to the field turf kind it was astroturf with dit at the bases...I want to say this was as recent as 5-10yrs ago...which is a pretty long time to be sporting astroturf.
