You can transfer without sitting out if your team gets hit with a 2 year bowl game. If OM gets their punishment and it's 2 year bowl ban, with it being in the middle of year 1 bowl ban, what happens? Do they still let mass the transfers happen? Or would hey have to sit out since the players only have one year bowl ban left? I'm still shocked they haven't had any transfers yet.

1 bowl ban

Literally will not happen. Ole Miss is halfway to China in the hole that they dug.

With 2 year bowl ban, student-athletes can transfer and be immediately eligible.

1 year bowl ban they have to sit out one year.

I get that. But since they are already in the middle of year 1, a player wouldn't transfer until next summer, when there is only 1 year left. what happens?

If a player transfers now, that player has to sit out a year.

The current bowl ban is self imposed.

The 2 year bowl ban won't happen until the NCAA announces the penalties which will total 3 years total for ole miss and allow players to transfer.

So what if it's only 1 more additional year? (2 total years). Can they transfer next summer without sitting out?

Then NCAA is going to levy 2 years on top of OM 1.

Players will be allowed to transfer.

OM appeals and the NCAA reduces it to 2 total as the loss in upperclassmen and talent is harsher than OM playing for a trip to Birmingham 2 years from now.

Once the 2nd year (at least) bowl ban is announced look for a ton of players from all classes to transfer.

I doubt Shea or Little transfers though as they are only going to play 3 years and declare for the draft anyways.

Why would they not transfer and play for a competitive team and probably a better coaching staff?

While not related to your question, this just underscores for me how toothless a bowl ban is after this season, as they likely wouldn't have enough wins to be bowl eligible anyway.

The types of possible sanctions that would devastate the program are:
- No home games in one season
- Scholarships being decimated
- Reduction in the number of asst. coaches
- Loss of off-campus recruiting; no paid recruiting visits

Those 2 are going pro after 3 years regardless of what happens.

By the time sanctions are announced they will only have 1 year left.

The NFL is already aware of them. They don't need to transfer. I guess it's always possible. But it's my opinion they don't.

Depends when the sanctions are announced and they may hurt their draft stick by transferring and showing an inability to learn the playbook or get on the field at their new destination.

Not to mention a TV ban as well.

NCAA is going to hit Ole Miss where it hurts the most, the bank account.

I don't disagree.
The problem with TV bans is that they penalize OM opponents as well.

I bet if players with only one year left of eligibility will be able to transfer no sit if the NCAA adds one more after this year.

If 3-4 players from each class transfer (and I think that is a low number) it will be devasting. Even more so when Schollie reductions are factored in.

OM is about to be "Walk-on U".
