I obviously meant the players he is going to be coaching.

NCAA lifted Penn St sanctions early. Oh and Penn St was a bowl team last year.

So those sanctions didn't hinder them at all?

All bowl teams are good teams?

Franklin has not done a better job at Penn State than Butch has at UT. His job at Vandy was similar to Butch's at UT, but with a much, much softer schedule, so Butch gets the edge there as well.

Penn St was at full strength this year. Go look at their stats. Sanctions announced mid 2012. There is no trend in their stats pre and post sanctions. They're up and down. In some areas it appears the sanctions helped, like red zone defense. The second year of sanctions they jumped 20 spots. You can see the same in scoring defense. When you can only have players for 3-4 years, the second year should be pretty dramatic in terms of damage. Yet it wasn't. That's because they weren't hit with severe sanctions. The big part was the money, not scholarships.

If I had to choose a defense and a coach, I'd take UT players and Jancek first, over UT players and Shoop.

Butch Jones just screwed up, again.

Oh nooooooos, a random Florida halfwit doesn't think this is a home run hire even though most media experts and most anyone with a functioning knowledge of football think it is.

Don't stop believing

We'd be much better than UF going forward with either one.

If you want to compare DC's, well all that is debatable I guess. But the overall coaching staff on the defensive side favors UF.

Those defensive masterminds at UF really used that month of preparation time to completely shut down that elite Michigan offense.

What does this have to do with Muschamp?

Well he did go undefeated against Butch so I guess it says South Carolina didn't hire the worst coach in the SEC East.

You guys are apparently a basketball school now. Congrats. Glad you guys found something to be good at finally.

THey've been a basketball school since the 80s, all that's changed is that now Men's basketball has taken the lead.

Where are you getting these stats? Shoop's D had the #1 4th down defense. Tennessee was #120+ next discredit attempt

Gators won't score three points with Shoop as our DC.

Stats are from the NCAA. If you weren't so stupid you'd be able to find them yourself.

4th down defense is meaningless. Especially when you suck in the red zone and attain nothing more than average in scoring defense.

You guys downgraded. Congrats on Butch being an idiot....again.

Seemed to work pretty well against the Vawls to extend the streak to 11.

Enjoy talking this streak up while you can. Streaks always come to an end. Vol fans used to do the same to Vandy until Franklin destroyed the streak with some nice beat downs. I expect the Vols to do the same at some point.
