If Butch is allowed another year, what staff changes need to be made to insure his job?

Personally a new DC and OC could probably do wonders. Also, seems like they made need improvememnts in O-Line and DB coaching.

Thoughts? I want Tenn to be succesful because it only makes the conference look better.

I think with the offenses choke jobs as of late it could be covered by a DC that can actually make use of the Elite talent on that roster.

And as much as i like the offenses philosphy, i think Tenn needs to be a power run team. Wether that be out the spread or not they can tear down teams dreams with those athletes on their roster.

No OC or DC worth a shite is going to hitch his wagon to Lyle's shite show.

But, need both of those and a new WR coach and OL coach IMO. I think the rest of the position coaches have done an alright job.

I was really hoping Azzani would leave last year. I've never liked that guy.

He'll almost definitely get another year because Hart fricked up and give him a raise/extension/high buyout when UT finished strong by beating up crappy opponents last year. And he's too cheap to pay the buyout. I'm not sure we need a new DC, although this year has been a little disappointing on that side of the ball. Jancek is decent but not great, although that unit was a shitpile when he got here. Debord is a terrible OC and needs to go. He's made Dobbs worse, and rarely if ever wants to establish any sort of passing threat. And Azzanni sucks dick too. He takes 4-5 star WR's and coaches them down to being nonfactors come gametime. Our receivers are close to the talent level of A&M, Ole Miss, etc. but you wouldn't know it due to piss poor coaching schemes on offense.

Yep. He's been the one constant in that all 2 and half seasons our WRs have underperformed. Yes the OL sucks and still can't pass protect worth a damn but WRs aren't getting open and when they do they don't catch the damn ball. I thought at first it was because in year 1 we had zero WRs with experience well now we're halfway in to year 3 and it's the same problems. He can recruit like the devil but his unit has been an utter waste every year and it's hurting our offense because it forces us to be one dimensional. A spread team that can't spread things vertically as well as horizontally is in trouble.

Doubt you remember me just passing on the info.

Of course I remember you.

Great board if they had some unbiased moderation. They have ran off everyone. Used to be the best SEC board on the Internet.

Glad to have you over here.

From an outsiders point of view, TN had some unfortunate injuries in camp on top of a fairly young and inexperienced team. The mark of an inexperienced team is the lack of ability to close out games late. Butch certainly hasn't helped, but I'm not so sure it's all his fault. TN just needs to grow up a bit and get healthy. TN has competed in every game thus far and has not been blown out. Very close to putting it all together. Can they do it this week Vs. UGA? I don't know. They have a very good chance if they can slow down their run game. If they can win this week it may help get the young guys to turn the corner a bit. Get some confidence going.

Trust me, Georgia Tech is decimated by injuries on offense and its crippling them. Even with a very experienced line. Lack of Aback and Bback blocking on the perimeter from blown assignments galore. It's amazing what some inexperience and a little youth will do.

Just give it some time TN fans. I think you are close.
