An Arkansas fan on here posting a question in defense of Bama then wondering why he's getting hammered. Dude quit sucking on the elephant pecker! Worry about who you're playing in the Indy Bowl, y'all like Bama had your chance and blew it. Get over it and move on, unlike Bama fan.

That is not a valid argument. 12 games is 12 games. In all actuality OU and OSU had an advantage over other big 12 teams by getting an extra bye week during the regular season

How am I "sucking elephant pecker" when I clearly said that I was cheering for LSU to win the BCS title game? I understand if you don't feel like reading the entire thread, but if you are going to make ad hominem statements it would do you good to be aware of where I stand.

Bama still gets an extra week of rest before their bowl game.

Most teams in that conference had two bye weeks. I think only 3 or 4 of their teams have already finished and aren't playing this weekend.

I actually have more of a problem with this part. The regular season should wrap up on the same weekend for everyone, teams without Conference CGs shouldn't get to play this weekend just to keep themselves fresh in the voters minds. I don't want a Conference or Division title to be an absolute requirement for the BCSCG but there should be a substantial reward. Like having a championship weekend that's not diluted with regular season games. Didn't the Pac-10 actually re-schedule USCw/UCLA in '03 just for this reason? That's bullshite.

Yeah i have no clue why the Big 12 gave some teams two byes and others only 1. That makes zero sense.

I keep seeing the complaints about Bama sitting at home waiting on the BCS title game while LSU has to play Georgia. What's the difference in Bama getting to the title game after playing 12 games and OSU getting to the title game after playing 12 games

The Original complain had more to do with certain media people saying LSU's chances of making the BCSNC could be in doubt with a loss in the SECCG while Bama's place was more secure. This has changed though as recently as yesterday in CF live they where discussing a Bama-OSU scenario. If LSU where to lose the SEC if anybody's place should be doubted is Alabama's, but no one says this.

Most is just random excuses. It all boils down to LSU beating Bama already, and some people not wanting a rematch. OSU doesn't play in a CCG either.

The Big 12, just like the SEC and every other conference, does not determine when teams will have their bye weeks. They make the conference schedule, then teams fill in the 5 or 6 open spots (depending on the conference) with their 3 or 4 OOC games.

How is it unacceptable? The schools schedule their OOC games, not the conference. Maybe they should have forced everyone to play a conference game this weekend, but they didn't award two byes to some teams and not others.

I also like how the Arkansas fan and Alabama fans are complaining about not being able to have a real discussion about it, yet they ignore the rational responses, only respond to flamers, and then try to group the whole LSU fan base together.

you cant have some teams in a conference having two byes and some with only one. How is that hard to understand? Who the hell would ever find that acceptable?

Every team had the same amount of open dates after the conference schedule was made, which would be 5 in this case. How they fill in those 5 dates with 3 games is up to them.

No. you need to have a uniform end date to the regular season. either make everyone take two byes or just one. pretty simple. if that happened in the sec people would flip their shite.

The BCS has been refined/jiggered to remove impartial evaluation of a team's ON FIELD accomplishments and have returned the process of selecting a national champion contender into a beauty contest. People's foibles and biases. Some voters are only focusing on a team's one loss instead of the number of wins against worthy opponents.

Don't overlook regional and conference biases on the part of the coaches and market biases on the part of the media. there's a lot of conflicting interests against an all-Sec BCSCG. Bama might still get in, but its not the slam dunk that the Bama fans on here think it is.

troof shinerfan. That is what I was hoping would surface in a case against a rematch, it has been very slow to oppose the rematch, I kinda doubt it will emerge before this sunday's final vote.

I think his argument was not the open dates, but the fact that the big 12 purposely put a premier matchup on championship weekend now that they don't have a championship game. I would imagine that they did that for two reasons. 1) For the TV ratings and revenue 2) For Oklahoma to not be "forgotten" by the voters while the SEC, Big 10, and PAC 12 were playing their conference games.
