He didn't. The ball was pulled loose way after the play was dead. Doesn't explain how to deal with one TO in last 9 minutes.

Honestly nc14...if y'all didn't block the extra point, then I was in favor of the onside kick. Even if y'all recover and Automatic Griffith makes another field goal, that still puts us only down 16 ie 2 tds 2 2pt conversions. Once y'all blocked the xp, another field goal ices it. At least that was my thought process up in the nosebleeds

I never trust Les, he surprises me how conservative he gets with Bama. That's not his MO.

if you don't recover the onside kick, game is basically done then and there.
I agree.
With 9 minutes left, you expect to get the ball back at least once, possibly twice if your defense makes a stand, other team screws up, turnovers, penalties, etc.
I would think your odds of success kicking deep with 9 minutes and change left are significantly better than an onside kick at that point (Not going to try to look it up; wouldn't even know where to start)

Down one score there is not even a debate. Two scores and one TO is gray, real gray.

I'd love to see a different angle of that kickoff landing. I thought it hit the sideline.
I'd like to see another angle of it as well, as it looks as if Kenyan Drake fumbled it between his legs when Louis hit him.
