He was my second favorite candidate behind Boom, would be a really good hire for State.

But it's a 2* recruit that I've been scouting for 15 years.

So you stalk toddlers?! jk

I get what you're saying, but UA wouldn't hire Clark as a D coordinator if there were an opening, and I'm sure you know that.

Saban offered him a job back in 2007, and might again now that he's been successful as a college head coach.

Incredible coach. What he did at UAB this year was very impressive. His 06-07 back to back 15-0 championship teams at Prattville gave up a little over 8ppoints per game averaged together. I know it's high school, but dude can coach D. He would be a boost in recruiting Alabama as well. Dude is well respected and loaded in connections. I think he'd be a home run DC for anyone in the SEC. I'm gonna go full gumptard and say I'm glad AU hired Mischamp over him, but I don't think Clark will turn out to be far behind Iif hegets a shot as an SEC DC.

As a position coach I'm sure, which is where he needs to start cutting his teeth in the SEC.

Let's be honest, if AU would have hired Clark, missing out on Muschamp, tRant would be 24/7 mocking AU.

The dude has been the head coach on two different levels, he doesn't need to start out coaching linebackers to move up to calling a defense. That's retarded. He had more responsibilities as a head coach of a D1 program than any position coach.

I wouldn't be. I don't give a damn what tRant has to say.

Auburn is sort of at that lower level where you don't bother mocking them. I honestly forgot you guys were bowl eligible.

Like Gus did when he joined the SEC?

Oh wait, he went from HS Head Coach to OC at Arkansas. That one really sucked for Arkansas.

Yes, that's the norm and I'm sure it's the model for program success.

Good coach, Got too much Bama in him, think him and Mullin may not be a good match. Also isn't Mullen the fall back guy for Michigan?

He was the defensive coordinator for USA before he went to Jax St and UAB. He could not defend the option to save his god damn life.

So he has something in common with Muschamp and Saban.

This is a good move for both him and Miss State. The fallout of the UAB system dissolution probably will keep some programs from looking at the success he had there in one year. Moving up to a defensive coordinator position in the SEC continues to add to his credibility and career advancement.

I would expect him to be there for a couple years before taking another mid-major HC position. He will be a head coach in the SEC someday.

Worse than that. To the tune of never having a chance to beat a team that ran the option with any sort of competency. We got absolutely wrecked by a mediocre Cal Poly team by like 30 points.

His name is being thrown around for the DC opening at Mississippi State. I know he was a HS coach for most of his career and won a couple of state titles at Prattville. He was HC at Jacksonville St. one year and UAB one year.

Other than that I know ZERO about the guy. Is he known for having great defenses? He seems to be really well liked and thought of in the state of Alabama.

I know very little about him. He may be a damn fine coach. But you're talking about a coordinator's position with a team that was the #1 ranked team in the country for 5 weeks. Does that resume impress you? Seriously, if not for all the pity for UAB, would you be asking this question? Are you wondering if he could be another Malzahn?
