Didn't Aub get a whole miniseries during spring after the NC?

Eta: I think I remember something similar with McFadden & Ark a few years back too

The commercial was made after the 07
Championship. They just run it now and
then. I think they do it with every school
that wins. But I do see that Scott Van Pelt
and Erin Andrews really like Les and give
Him alot of attention, but he makes it
easier to do their jobs, and he is a good
Sport and knows PR is part of the job,
Sending SVP some old sneekers etc.
I can't remember the other schools
Commercials but I am sure they run some.

Don't remember McFadden. Love the guy, but he shouldn't have been on TV commercials.

We were featured on Depth Chart this year, so Im not bitching. I was referring to everyone else.

It wasn't a commercial but some kind of spring/preseason coverage piece.

But you never see UGA, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, etc.

Not completely true. Florida, Ohio State, USCe and others have had similar type of exposure in ESPN in recent years. Arkansas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Iowa State have not. I don't think this is an agenda pro or against anyone. This is not a flame but compare the achievements of LSU or Florida the last 10 years with Arkansas or Texas A&M and there is your answer.

Also, we were one of the the few teams who got that ESPN: Depth Chart thing. I think that would help recruiting more than commercials.

Jesus, I knew this was coming. I really don't give a shite if Arkansas has a commercial. Im just pointing out that it SEEMS unfair to schools that aren't included. Do you not agree. If not, explain to me how.

Your butt.

It's hurt.

This sounds like the bitching Steve Spurrier did last year when ESPN did a week special on Alabama's fall camp.

It helps if your mascot or coach are interesting.

Also helps to win something other than a minor bowl.

I think LSU and Les Miles are in the commercials because they are funny. To my knowledge, LSU gas been featured in 3 ESPN ads, Shaw getting Mike down from a tree, Les Miles in the recruiting pitch, and the gameday crew eating grass. All were good ads as the sportscenter ads are generally well done.

I believe the recruiting ad was done after LSU landed the #1 class in the nation which would lend a reason to the selection for the ad. Also Miles tends to come off as very likable and willing to laugh at something as opposed to some other SEC coaches. The whole thing with Scott Van Pelt and the shoes that were sent to Les, only to have a video of Miles playing basketball with histhe choldren and getting better "with the shoes" was good for a laugh.

Overall, I think ESPN is doing what is good for business by putting the teams that are in the commercials in them.

That commercial is an old one. The grass one is newer. ESPN picks Miles because 1) he wins and 2) he is likable. For those reasons, don't expect Petrino to go to Bristol any time soon.
