663 yards came in the last three games

In the Iron Bowl, SEC CG and the BSCNCG --that's more impressive than the original graphic IMO

yeah, this is by far the most impressive facet of his season.

I think the OP reflects yards from scrimmage so that is probably his reference point (Richardson didn't return kicks in 2011).

Richardson (2011) - 2017 yards from scrimmage, 24 TDs, and 6.5 yards per touch (5.9 yards per carry)

Mason (2013) - 1979 yards from scrimmage, 24 TDs, and 6.0 yards per touch (5.7 yards per carry).

Looked these up on the internet, I guess they are accurate but not sure.

I was responding to the stats posted in the original OP which were from scrimmage. Thanks elposter for clarifying.

Ok, did they really just make a graphic that has both Tre Mason and Go..err...i mean...Herschel on the same footing?

Well I'll be damned.

No, Tre Mason produced a season that put him and Herschel on similar footing.

Tre Mason had 5 games with less than 100 yards this season.

Herschel Walker had 5 games in his whole college college career with less than 100 yards. (4 were as a freshman and the 5th was when he was wearing cast on his broken right thumb)

Dawgs still hanging their hat on Herschel. Richt does less with more than any coach in the SEC. If he had Herschel, he would still choke away a few games.

Take a look at the stats.

It's kinda sad how little UGA fans have to cling to these days.

Mason doesn't have the raw abilities of those other two.
That's probably why he's not considered an elite back. He definitely benefited from the system he was in, but stats like that are never gotten without hard work. I would still pick the top two over him, but he's definitely worth a real look after those two are picked in an all-time draft.

He gained 1,000 yards rushing in Scot Loeffler's offense in 2012, and averaged more yards per carry that year than this year...

These three teams weren't running the same offense, nor were they playing in the same league.
