When you fire someone who will likely go onto the Mount Rushmore of head coaches at your University 4 games into the season and they weren't caught molesting a dead animal at midfield during a nationally televised game it looks really bad.

I thought this has been handled horribly by your AD from last season to this and I'm not sure he can land a home run hire to replace Miles. This could be something that sets LSU football back for years.

As a Mizzou fan I'm sad. Few teams win at LSU at night. With the anger at Les, I really think if he was there and we started hot like we did versus Georgia that the crowd would have turned on him and created an amazingly toxic environment. Now I think they will rally behind the team and bring us a more difficult atmosphere to pull off an upset.

I think at a blue chip recruiting place like LSU you need to hire the coach that USC was way too stupid to hire when he was at Boise: Chris Peterson. Guy is a top 5 X and O coach and can recruit. I think he'd be dominant at LSU for the next decade plus.

Firing Les was the right move. The timing is retarded.

He should have been fired last year or at the end of the year. This will hurt recruiting for 2017 and will hurt this season's chances, plus it will do dickall for helping LSU get a "head start" on a coach despite the Positiger spin.

I would not criticize another school making a decision of this magnitude. I'm sure this was well thought out. Tiger fans will rally around the team and give them their full support. Good Luck Tigers!

I like Les Miles and he will be missed in the SEC. His players seem to genuinely love him also. I understand why the move was made though and think it's the right one for your program. There are no guarantees in coaching changes though. You have the right idea with it, but some LSU fans are only seeing the upside and not understanding the risks with making a move like this. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I think they are doing what we did to RC, what Michigan did to Lloyd Carr, what Tennessee did to Phat Phil, what Nebraska did to Frank Solich, and what Texas did to Mack Brown. Firing the old reliable winner because he's spoiled them and they've grown delusional thinking they are owed natties instead of 10 win seasons.

Of course, just like ALL of those schools, they think that that won't happen to THEM because THEY'RE special and unique and that all they need to do is make the right hire and they'll start winning natties every year. It's a case of "inside the bubble" "echo chamber" delusion. It happens to all big fanbases and no one from the outside can ever talk sense to them. They're caught in a fever dream right now. They'll get their Rich Rod, Fran, Bill Callahan, Lane Kiffin, Midget Strong, spend a decade wandering in the desert, and only then realize what punks they were for firing Miles.

We haven't had a 2 (or less) loss season since 2011, and Miles has not had serious hot seat talk until last November, but you want to come out with this idiotic argument.

Stupid...

Saban is a historical figure... Sorry you lost him LSU, but Miles was one of the better coaches out there, just couldn't get his coordinators straight.... Sort of like Tuberville.

Should've let him go last year or the end of this year with some dignity if they were going to do it.

Can't blame the move but find it hard to believe the next coach will replicate the success of your last two.

Les is 80-28 averaging under 10 wins and over 3 losses in the last 8 years. 1 SEC title in 8 years. It has nothing to do with Alabama being one of the greatest dynasties during this 8 years.

LSU is 15-10 vs Ole Miss, Arkansas and Auburn. Being 4-4 with Arkansas and 4-4 with Ole Miss. No offense to those fans, but that is not what LSU should be doing with the way they are recruiting.

Poorly handled. Never fire a long term coach mid season unless there is a major rule violation or conduct violation

I disagree with that for myself. I'm not spoiled to us having to win it every year. I do expect to be a contender and in all the games. The last few years of Les was apathetic at best. We knew every year we were going to be shite at qb. Questionable losses and a solid run game. Thats it. Win or lose we woukd be no different. No 2nd half adjustments nothing.

The bama LSU championship game sealed it for me. A complete refusal to do anything else but what he had in his head was a tipping point. I watched all the games and enjoyed them. Who knew my first kids LSU game woukd be Les Miles last in tiger stadium.

They just became so frustrating to watch the same shite every year and you knew it was coming.

I do think hes a good person and woukd have no problem him being there in some capacity after the dust settles.
