Evidenced by the recent game, as well as the past few championships.

To make the championship game, and to win it, it looks like running a basic pro style offense will not be enough. It has been figured out at the college level. This is why Alabama has gone with a true freshman QB with questionable throwing.

Going to be interesting to see who adjusts and who doesn't. Props to Alabama for at least trying. I don't think LSU has the ability

A pro style offense will win another title before Wadley hires a white police chief. Book it !

I think the pro style can win you more regular season games on a regular basis because the nature of the offense is ball control and eating the clock and that's easier on your team over the course of the season.

But when it comes down to ONE game the spread offense is going to open up the play book and go all out and if a solid spread offense gets hot it can outscore anybody on any given night

So basically it comes down to a less strenuous road to a potential championship vs a better shot in the actual championship game if you stay healthy enough to get there

I love how all of you morons assume the rest of us spend half our lives here and know every poster here and what teams they are fans of.

His screen name is "Pride of Georgia" and user profile says "Go dawgs", and I'm a dolt for assuming he is a UGA fan.

While you're here.....Kirby lost to Vandy, man, Vandy!

Agree. That's my point. Alabama is the Standard, and they are abandoning the pro style. Other teams trying to emulate Bama will not make it to the playoffs. LSU blew their shot when Herman said no

You're wrong. If you have a great OL and a decent QB, you can easily win with a pro style offense.

LSU hired CEO. I'd take a loss to Vandy any day over the clusterfrick that's about to take place at LSU.

Pro style won it last year ... and I wouldn't call Watson a pure dual threat qb ... he's a pocket passer who can run a little ...

Saban lost to UAB his first year. UAB!

Saban lost to ULM his first year. ULM!

Not saying he's the next Saban, but he's recruiting at an even higher level than Georgia is accustomed to. Maybe we shouldn't judge his first year too harshly.

Alabama has won four national titles in 7 years with a pro-style QB, and not even a great pro-style QB. They had a dual threat QB this year and lost. They might have won this year if Sarkisian ran the damn ball in the second half.

The simple fact is Clemson won because Deshaun Watson is the best, most dynamic QB in college football in probably 20 years, yes better than Vince Young.
