Maybe college students are different nowadays, but whenever I was given anonymous surveys, I trolled the frick out of them.

Half the methodologies from all these rankings are pretty sad as a use for comparison

There's nothing alike between y'all and Vanderbilt.

Except UF is widely regarded as on of the top 15 institutions in the country, you're right

I would expect private universities like Vandy and Florida is not the "state" university to have better academics particularly with the way state universities are funded nowadays.

I am sure they are filtered because of this. They usually use a median range or something to help weed this out.

Who would have thought that schools with strong engineering programs would have a higher average salary than ones without?

More emphasis should be put on outlays and outcomes. University's should be ranked on return on investment. If you can go to a school for relatively little and on average get a job making much over the national/regional average, that school is one on my rankings. I think a lot of SEC schools represent a tremendous value in that type of ranking.

That's because you went to Alabama and with your 65 Academic rating, you probably struggled to read the surveys.

I still struggle with reading. I don't like to talk about it. That Alabama education only prepared me for 3rd Grade literature, unfortunately.

How hard students work and how much they get back for their efforts, on a scale of 60–99 . This rating is calculated from student survey results and statistical information reported by administrators. Factors weighed include how many hours students study outside of the classroom and the quality of students the school attracts. We also considered students' assessments of their professors, class size, student–teacher ratio, use of teaching assistants, amount of class discussion, registration, and resources. Please note that if a school has an Academic Rating of 60* (sixty with an asterisk), it means that the school did not report to us a sufficient number of the statistics that go into the rating by our deadline.

Legit and backed up by other studies.

AU has one of the lowest rates of grade inflation of any U.S. college. In other words, students actually have to work hard for good grades.

On the flip side, Alabama has the highest grade inflation among SEC schools.
