Sadly Sparty I'll never expect Boom to allow a RB to get 30 carries and take over a game on O the way he could to win a game

Until he proves me wrong, maybe he will this year and Kelvin Taylor is the back he could do it with

What are you talking about... Did you watch the 2012 LSU game?
Or pretty much any of the 2012 season?

Florida leaned on Mike Gilislee about as much as they could in 2012, and he played hurt most of the year. The biggest wins of the year (FSU, TAMU, and LSU), he had 72 carries, 369 yards, and 6 TDs.

And that would have been higher had he not been hurt against TAMU. He had 34 carries against LSU and 24 against FSU.

If Taylor can handle the beating, he is going to get a TON of carries. Even in Roper's more wide open offense.

But I'm not predicting Taylor to break 1000 yards.

UF has too many good backs on the roster this year. There is going to be a healthy rotation unless someone (like Taylor) steps up and is clearly head and shoulders better than the rest.

He might be more physical but he wasn't anything close to how violent a runner Tre was. He ran like he was pissed off and his speed and running style were a perfect combo

Gurley is the best back in the conference by far. I think he'll finish #1 whether Marshall is healthy or not.

#1 Gurley
#2 Davis
#3 CAP
#4 Collins
#5 TBD

How is it exaggerating? If a player rushed 1 time in each quarter and never saw the field apart from those 4 plays...yes in reality he played the whole game. But playing in a grand total of 4 plays in the whole game doesn't really mean they "played the whole game". We have to use a little common sense.

So you're saying that Gurley never once lined up next to Aaron Murray for pass protection, huh? Gurley also never ran a route except the times he actually caught the ball? You think only the plays in which the player actually touches the ball should count then? And you're the one talking about common sense?
quote:

CU- he had 12 total carries, or an average of 3 carries per quarter. Don't you think that if he was fully participating in teh game he would carry more than 3 times per quarter? He bruised his thigh early in the 1st quarter and got spot carries the rest of the way.
Played in 7 of the 20 offensive snaps in the 2nd. Played in 9 of the 21 offensive snaps in the 3rd. Played in 9 of the 15 offensive snaps in the 4th.
quote:

UF- after the 1st quarter he went to the lockerroom for stomach problems. Hard to be fully playing if you're in the lockerroom. He did get more carries than against clemson, but he did not play the full game.

He missed two drives, ffs. He played in the majority of every other offensive drive for UGA. Just because he didn't get the ball on a zone-read or a when he went out for a pass doesn't mean you just wipe that quarter away from his playing time. Facts and shite

It's amazing the revisionist history UGA fans are trying to portray with Gurley.

Also, Gurshall will be injured, again.

Stay classy, dicknose. There isn't another player in the league that is as tough as Gurley.

The fact of the matter is that he missed 3 games, missed an entire half against LSU and didn't get nearly as many carries against Clemson that he would have minus the injury (look at the Gurley/Marshall splits for that game compared to UF '11 and Bama '11).

After a thigh injury against Clemson and a high ankle sprain against LSU, he literally stayed banged up the rest of the year. He wasn't even 100% in the bowl game.

He still had a very productive year when looking at his total yards and total TDs.

No it doesn't...

You won 6 games by a TD, or less and needed multiple miracles to get to the dance. You shouldn't have been there. And you won't be again anytime soon.

bucc and benny I thought you 2 were better than this. Taking one post and spinning it into "LSU fans".

get frickin real

go read the rant on the RB situation and you'll find 95% of our fanbase KNOWS that LF will be splitting carries. LSU has always done this.

If we really want to talk about delusional fans give me 10 minutes on tidefans.

Shhhh... Folks here don't understand logic. They just run with blinders on.

No need to justify TGII. He's 90'ish% and will be ready for the fall. It's his NFL season. He is the best RB in the Nation and will prove this fact come September.

No doubt. If there is a coach in this league that will ride a player into the ground to try and win, it's Spurrier. I feel terrible for Lattimore...

I wasn't talking about all LSU fans man I was replying to the poster who posted that and all I've seen is high expectations for LF on here

Are you that delusional? No but there is a faction on here who posts this stuff cas

Eh, yeah, I made a pretty wide generalization. There's still a number of vocal LSU fans that highly expect it to be the LF show from game 1. Normally you don't see the level headed fans in threads like this

One of the luckiest gifts you will ever see. Enjoy it. After the buttfumble I was under the impression Jesus played for AU.

theres a difference in high expectations and delusion.

Ihave high expectations for the kid. He's the best HS RB I've seen come out of LA. I think he'll have an immediate impact.

I think that's feasible.

LF could very well get 10-15 carries vs Wisconsin. He doesn't have the frame of an 18 year old, and he clearly passes that eye test as far as skill goes.

7.2 yards a carry is a retarded prediction, but it was one prediction from some dude who prob slapped a number down and then went on his day. It doesn't represent what LSU fans, even rantards, think.

Again, go look on TR. Most everyone expects him to split carries all year.
