Good lord, could you exaggerate any more?
quote:

He missed half of the clemson, florida, and app st games. So no he didn't miss 5 full games, but he was out more than 3
1) Clemson - he recorded a rushing stat in every single quarter.
2) UF - he recorded a rushing stat in every single quarter.
3) App State - he recorded a rushing stat in 3 quarters.

If this is the way UGA fans count stats, then yes, yes Tre Mason missed "like 8 or 9 halves of football."

Joey are you buying the CAP hype? I still think Corey Grant will end up AU's leading rusher at the end of the year

I'm getting old lmao. Meant Nick, their QB. Instead I referred to the guy that covers Auburn Undercover.

I didn't know we were adding QBs Gator

I'd actually put N. Marshall higher then

Yardage:

1. Todd Gurley with 1700+ yards
2. Cameron Artis Payne with 1500+ yards
3. Mike Davis with 1300+ yards
4. TJ Yeldon with 1250+ yards
5. Alex Collins with 1200+ yards

TDs:

1. Mike Davis with 16+ TDs
2. Todd Gurley with 15+ TDs
3. Cameron Artis Payne with 14+ TDs
4. TJ Yeldon with 13+ TDs
5. Tra Carson with 12+ TDs

I like you but I don't see Gurley getting that many carries this year. If he does I would be suprised but if Marshall is healthy I think the load will be more like 20 Gurley 10 Marshall per game. I think Gurley ends up with +20 TDs though. I also think if Mike Davis stays healthy he will end up with the most yards because USC tends to pound the rock alot with him.

How is it exaggerating? If a player rushed 1 time in each quarter and never saw the field apart from those 4 plays...yes in reality he played the whole game. But playing in a grand total of 4 plays in the whole game doesn't really mean they "played the whole game". We have to use a little common sense.

He missed all of UT, Mu, and Vandy. That's 6 halves right there. He got hurt in the 2nd quarter of the LSU game and missed the last half, so already we're at 7 full halves of football missed.

CU- he had 12 total carries, or an average of 3 carries per quarter. Don't you think that if he was fully participating in teh game he would carry more than 3 times per quarter? He bruised his thigh early in the 1st quarter and got spot carries the rest of the way.

UF- after the 1st quarter he went to the lockerroom for stomach problems. Hard to be fully playing if you're in the lockerroom. He did get more carries than against clemson, but he did not play the full game.

App St- was taken out after the 2nd drive of the 3rd quarter. So he missed roughly 25 minutes of clock time.

Not Joey, but CAP is the real deal. He is more of a bruiser than Mason was, but he has some moves too.

I do think Grant will see more carries than he did last year though. He is a homerun threat and was underutilized last year IMO.

Ok fair enough just seems like a few have expectations that are too high

Bama had a great TF with Derrick Henry and he still struggled until he was able to have extended time practicing for the bowl game and seemingly turned a corner and he's a physical specimen, but struggled with vision

It is tough if RBs aren't an EE

I don't know about 20 TDs, but I do know he'll have a huge year. TG and Marshall will be a damn good combo for UGA.

I like Taylor....I really do and I think he is under the radar as a player who will be a damn fine back. But let's not get crazy.

Somewhat facetious there (this is the SEC Rant, after all).

Not as fast as Mason
Not as violent a runner as Mason
Once Tre Mason figured out the scheme and his role better toward the end of the year it was all on him and CAP barely saw any time and Grant got more carries

Coaches trust Grant more IMO not sure if that's changed but that and his HR threat that CAP doesn't have are the 2 reasons I think he will have more yards

Sadly Sparty I'll never expect Boom to allow a RB to get 30 carries and take over a game on O the way he could to win a game

Until he proves me wrong, maybe he will this year and Kelvin Taylor is the back he could do it with

True

Umm, he is definitely more of a violent runner than Mason

Grant got fewer carries also as Louis's speed sweep carries increased. The reason CAP got fewer carries was because Malzahn didn't want to give defenses the opportunity to substitute.
