Why you making up BS about Elite? Nobody on Elite has stated Mullen is going to get fired if he has a losing season

State is going to go 6-3 most likely outside their toss-up games. Playing UPig, Auburn, and A&M at home is huge for us. History says we won't lose all 3 at home.

State could be anywhere from 9-3 to 6-6. 7-5 is a pretty safe bet

Don't be so defensive about your site, it is widely made fun of anywhere but on ED. And why are you posting on this site after losing a permanent ban bet anyways?

Listed from most to least likely (not necessarily an indication overall ranking but rather matchup issues and recent success/struggles vs a given opponent)
Wins:
Samford
UMASS
Usa
Byu
Usc
Tamu

Losses:
Lsu
Alabama
Arkansas
Ole miss
Auburn
Kentucky

6-6 + northern patsy in bowl game = 7-6
Good coaching and smart scheduling has made 6-6 Mississippi state's new "down year".

It's widely read so OM fans can get correct info also. I wasn't defensive- I just corrected a wrong statement

8-4 which would be a fanatic season with the turnaround. Anything over 8 wins should be considered incredible

there were some from over there that wanted him gone this year after losing the egg bowl despite being 8-4.

BYU won't be easy because for couple of reasons. People that haven't played them in Provo before wouldn't understand.

WINS

USA
SC
UMASS
BYU
Kentucky
Samford
Arkansas

Possibly one of Auburn, A&M, Ole Miss

7-5 likely with ceiling 8-4

Arkansas won't have the offensive firepower to outscore us at home.

I can't imagine us not winning 7 games with arguably our best defense Mullen has had.

You sure have a lot of faith in Peter Sirmon as your new DC considering his lack of experience. The guy is 39 years old and a 1st time coordinator, the SEC usually isn't the place for on the job training.

Plus you have all new position coaches on that side of the ball. I think your defense will likely take a step back this year.

Dak, Bear and Chris Jones were arguably the best trio of players State has ever had. I'm still amazed that Bear wasn't even picked up as a free agent.

I think State will suffer tremendously in '16 in large part because the division is so dominant.

6-6.

Our defense will be better than anytime last year, by mid season. Our defense sucked under Manny.

I wasn't a big fan of Diaz either but I wouldn't jump so fast as to say our defense is going to be great. There are some question marks to be answered plus a new starting QB. Being realistic 6-6 or 7-5.

I agree... There's so much familiarity between the players and the entirely new defensive coaching staff... I heard Richie Brown has been finishing Sirmon's sentences since early May.

Too much has happened. If they had any decent proven RB, the loss of Dak wouldn't be so bad, but he was pretty much their only rushing offense last year.

Plus with Wilson stupidly leaving early for the draft and Fred Brown being an idiot, they lost some impressive firepower. The next guy should have been capable of a 3000+ yard 20+ TD passing season just because of the system and those pass catchers alone. Now, along with a do everything playmaker at QB, they lose two of their top 3 WRs and don't have a good running game to fall back on.

It will be. It will be a different defense entirely by the end of the season.
