7-5 isn't really a bad record considering the circumstances at Mississippi State. I'm a little skeptical of them because they don't have a running back. State had a great offense last season because of Prescott. He won games with completely average guys around him (except Ross and Wilson).
If they want to really surprise people, they need a running game badly. Especially since they're breaking in a new QB. I just don't see it this year, though. I think that they can just win the expected games and maybe steal a win versus A&M.

I'd put 2010 at the top with Banks, Fletcher Cox, Josh Boyd, Pernell Mcphee, KJ Wright, Chris White, and Charles Mitchell.
That defense was pretty salty and have five NFL guys that contribute at a high level especially Fletcher, Pernell and KJ

That was a very good defense. Hard to argue with that.. I just think there's a lot of potential in this '16 defense. Offense is a coin flip, it's either going to be hideous, or just good enough to win some games with good defensive play.

I do like the look of our defense this year. Back end should be much improved and our LB corps is one of the better in the SEC. Someone HAS to step up at our corner though

This. If we can get that one dependable guy to isolate on guys this defense could be really, really good.
