Yea man, responding to the thread is definitely getting "hooked". Solid troll. Guess we would've been better off not responding at all.

In the last 11 years, LSU has finished outside the top 21 in points per game given up only once (2008 - 65th) with the disastrous Malveto pairing.

They may not be top 10, but I would be shocked if they finish outside of the top 40.

Previous years ppg ranking(most recent first) 3, 21, 12, 2, 11, 11, 65, 20, 4, 8, 10.

Sorry man, I'm not referring to those with legit responses.

Just to those who are in denial, the question is legit and good for discussion.

What will LSU rank defensively after losing what was one of the best DC's in the country?

(My 75th-80th was the only shiny hook)

Yeah, I knew what you were doing, but I still wanted to respond. So, I guess I kind of bit. I just wanted to see what the hook tasted like.

Anyway, like I keep saying, you got a good one and should be very happy. Chavis will be a real stabilizing force for A&M on defense and will immediately make them a 10 win type team, which is huge in the SEC. If you can be a 10 win team, then you are in the mix to compete for the championship every year, which is all that matters.

Alabama has been an 11 win type team, but that is really rare and won't last forever. LSU has been a 10 win type team for the past 4-5 years, but has fallen off now.

Well done on the post, though.

Talent is why LSU's defense is always good.

You will learn that lesson hard it appears.

Enjoy your imagined "melt", god knows you have no on field results to feel good about.

First there was JFF - heisman lost to LSU TWICE and by the end every faggy was SOOOOO happy to see his punk arse leave College Station.

Now the next savior has arrived - old sec coach from the real UT you hired a coach - now that's an achievement to celebrate. Problem is, as with JFF, before long you'll be begging for his arse to go. And you'll still be nothing but Tiger Bait

I feel pretty confident that LSU will get a good DC. Miles has only had Pelini and Chavis as DCs, apart from his Co-DC experiment for one year. I think that he knows what he needs there and will make a good hire. I am not sure that I would want Smart. He has been in Saban's shadow too long and I am not sure how good he will be on his own.

LSU is set to return 18 of 22 starters at this point, if no one else goes pro. Jalen Collins and Kwon Alexander are the only 2 to declare early so far, and they were expected. If Harris can come on and take the starting QB job and if a good DC is hired, then LSU will compete for the West next year.

Damn, I didn't realize how bad we were in some categories.

TFL - tied for 62

Sacks - 102

Rush defense - 42

Turnovers - 64

As far as I know, Defensive Coordinators don't suit up and play. And LSU will have scary young talent on defense next year, plus some junior and senior leadership.
I hear Letterman needs comedy writers. You should apply once your lobotomy wears off.

Chavis is a good DC.

I am not gona pretend he isn't, but we also have great talent.

If we hire another good OC, we will still have a good Defense.

Y'all are just hoping chavis makes you a decent defense, because you were a shite defense before.

Is it the same cooler that's holding your tears after 4 years of LSU owning you? A&M = LSUs bitch.

Don't even know who our DC is and already predicting the dropoff to give us our worst defense we've had since the late 90s.

A&M fans want so bad to make the departure of Chavis a catastrophic loss for LSU it's becoming comical.

I always sell my tickets when we play A&M so I don't know what they have lol. To put it into perspective for my fellow tigers, its like the guy thats never gotten any. When they finally do it can be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway to them its still the best thing they've ever had. Let them have their moment.
