Last time we were SEC runner-ups with 2 losses we pretty much put the nail in the coffin of the Miami Hurricanes in the PEACH BOWL. They lost that swag and never got it back.
Regardless, to stay on track, if AJ snaps his leg against Va Tech, and they lose 5, I'd expect a full court press to get them into the BCS. It would make a solid t-shirt, a potential best seller in Anniston.

The more 't-shirt ' of a Bama fan you are, the more agitated news and opinion from the outside world agitates you. Bama would beat everyone on the schedule but LSU and aTm (with JFF) running the football 80% of the time. 10-2 or 11-1 without AJ. Bama has won a national title before with a QB who did nothing but hand the ball off. Having AJ is just a bonus to a team that is great with him or without him.

The running game and defense alone would be able to win most games, and the WR core would carry a bad QB to some extent in a passing game.
