Both Bama and LSU have stout run defenses. If pounding the ball isn't working for either side in the first half, they're going to have to start airing it out in the second half and both secondaries as we know this season have been a liability. If I had to give an edge to one it would be LSUs but they've underperformed all season and are very susceptible to coverage busts. Don't count out a 45-43 type score especially if it goes into OT.

An actual shootout between the fanbases is more likely.

Once something gets in the head of football fans, it never leaves. I think you'll find that Bama's secondary is hardly a liability.

Bama's secondary is definitely not a liability.

Are you talking about those great interceptions thrown straight at them?

i agree with both statements. people hear something and stick with it no matter the facts that dispute it. your secondary isn't a liability like in the past, just like we aren't a one trick pony.

That's about as convincing as allowing 200 passing yards per game to far inferior competition.

This.

And how exactly is Bama's secondary a liability?

1st in passes defended (Bama with 47, LSU with 26), 1st in interceptions (Tied with Ole Miss with 12, LSU with 7) Source:SECSports

This is in line with the passing offenses Bama has faced vs those that LSU has faced.

All comes down to the D-Line play.

So, Bama leads the SEC in most statistics vs. the pass, but the secondary is suspect. Got it. LSU reasoning.

I'm not saying LSU won't be able to pass. But, saying Bama's secondary is bad just because you don't know any better or because it's what you want to believe is just stupid.

This is due to neither fanbase watching the other's games.

Bama's D is always described as struggling against mobile QBs. However, that has been a situation of the QB extending the play, mostly, to allow receivers to get open. That has not been happening much at all this year.

Again. D-Line + cornerbacks moved to safety + impressive freshman CB play=better against mobility. Downside has been a trend of giving up yardage to runs to the edge.
