Those show that hockey > baseball in attendance.

The baseball figures are from two months ago, and the season isn't over yet.

LSU will again top 400,000 if it hosts a super regional.

Actually it's from March of 2013. Nobody argues that baseball has more total attendance. They play like 20 more games after all. I was referring to average attendance.

College hockey makes way more profit than college baseball.

That would be surprising. It costs way more to outfit a hockey team than a baseball team, the scholarship costs are higher for hockey, and it costs more to maintain and operate a hockey arena than it does a baseball stadium.

And the season doesn't end in March.

The average attendance for SEC baseball games are higher than for NCAA hockey games across the country.

Not according to those statistics.

Baseball was great when I was a kid. Then I grew up and put away childish things.

Here. Baseball is played with wood bats. These duds use the same bat as my little cousin in coach-pitch ball.

It's a boring game to watch on tv no matter what kind of bat they are using. It's a little better game to watch live in person but even then only marginally so.

There's a link from after the end of the CWS last year. LSU's average attendance (which was the highest in the NCAA) is still about 600 lower than North Dakota's hockey attendance, despite playing about 20 or so more games.

eta: And at the notion if you don't like baseball it's bc your team sucks. UCLA's average attendance was only 760 last year.

Because college hockey outdraws college baseball

Attendance figures for hockey and baseball are actually very similar. But baseball is played nationally and hockey is a regional sport.

So does LSU. Their stadiums seat more.
