Sammy Lemon a phemon RB for Florida back in the mid 1970s who would have joined an elite group of athletes at the RB position. Coaches raved about his abilities and in the mid 1970s we were a wishbone team with the fastest group of speed backs in the country (alas defense didnt match up as well).

Sammy was often injured and those days a knee injury was not like today...he lettered in 1976 but he never got to show his speed and power.

Thad Turnipseed- not sure of the position but he played and then worked for Bama.

He lived right next to me when he was a player. My wife and I went up for a reunion she had with her pledge class and they arranged a tour of Bryant Denny and he was the one who gave us the tour. Really nice guy. Works for Dabo now.

Jim Bob Cooter. QB for UT.

Jim Bob proved that holding the clipboard can pay off, since he's now the OC of the Detroit Lions.

He's literally one of the hottest names in NFL coaching right now. He will be a head coach within 3 years and he is barely past 30. So of you need to look up the words "obscure" and "forgotten"

It was 2005, but I'm impressed you remembered the name since there's nothing very memorable about his career.

DJ Shockley got hurt before the cocktail party against Arkansas in the first half. JT3 played almost the whole game and didn't look THAT bad. But still, he's not a guy you want starting for you. Extremely limited passer but fairly ok as a runner. Against UF in 05 on our first drive we threw a bomb to the TE but dropped it, and we barely passed it after that. We probably ran at least 10 designed QB keepers for JT. The most noteworthy play of his whole career was in that game, we threw a pitch to thomas brown who threw it back to JT who made a spectacular grab in the endzone. We had a bye the next week so DJ came back against auburn, and that was basically the last we ever saw of JT.

DGD though from a family full of em.
