I think more reliastic guys are Chad Morris, Lane Kiffin or maybe Frank Wilson (god I hope they don't get Frank)

No one with an established reputation is going to come there. They need a young guy that wants to prove himself. Like Baylor with Matt Rhule.

I think this will happen honestly. New Orleans recruiting will become fun. I've been told that a lot of coaches there don't care for Ed but you know they love Frank.

I live in Metairie and I've built about 500 houses in the greater NOLA area so I'm pretty connected to people from all walks of life and I've been fortunate enough to meet quite a few high school coaches in NOLA.

Frank Wilson anywhere in the SEC, besides LSU, terrifies me.

No young coach who wants to climb the ranks is going to go to Ole Miss. It's an awful situation where Ole Miss will probably be down at least 4-5 years. It'll be an older washed up coach who's looking for a nice pay day.

I would like to see what Mike Leach could do at Ole Miss. Leach isn't a choir boy but he could bring an exciting offense to Oxford.

Les Miles would bring stability to the program as far as integrity and honesty but fans would get angry with his tired offense and stubbornness. Miles can't win big at Ole Miss within the next five years with the hammer coming down. Miles is not up for that at his age.

Freeze offered him the OC position when he was hired but LSU paid up and kept him out. I think their admin knows and agrees with you.

Yeah sure, then in fifteen years people can say how none of them deserve another HC job because they went 0-for in the SEC at Ole Miss.

Frank is building a reputation and a good program at UTSA. He doesn't need the headache and shitty record Ole Miss will provide. He should skip Ole Miss and be a HC again, instead of committing career suicide.

Only two coaches have gone 0fer in the SEC for Ole Miss in 20 years

One of them is your head coach

The next one will be the next head coach at Ole Miss. That crap is not a stepping stone to advance a coaches career, it is a ledge for jumping to certain career suicide.

If a name is mentioned on this board and you have heard it before it AINT gonna happen. The only way someone who's name you have heard before would be if it someone who is already retired and just wants to make 3 million or more per year with no expectations of winning, so basically staying retired.

If Coach O was unemployed right now, he wouldn't even consider taking that shite job. He has been cursed enough from stepping foot on that campus as it is.

Les Miles

Everyone keeps saying this and I do think it would be a good fit for Ole Miss. Les wouldn't do anything special but he could run the ship for a few years.

That said, why would he want it? He's getting paid $$$$ by LSU and the money he gets from OM would count against it. Some even speculated that he didn't really "want" to get a job last year.

If he does want to coach again, this would be such a shitty situation to walk into.

I think Les would be a good hire to stabilize for a few years. But he has stated numerous times he wants to go somewhere committed to winning championships. Not sure Ole Miss will be able to provide that at this time.

If I was him I'd wait for the one I really wanted. If it doesn't come, I know George Bass just has to ring up ESPN and Sec network and I have a job.

Ole Miss really should take a shot on a young up and coming OC/DC. The type of guys that would typically be ~2 jobs away from a SEC coaching job

A guy like Travaris Robinson (USCe DC), who will take a UCF HC type job in 2-3 years, probably would jump at the opportunity to be a SEC HC at a stop with low expectations

Worst case, TRob doesn't work out but gets you through the tough years. Best case, you snag a young rising star before his profile is worthy of bigger brand name schools

I'm certain they are committed to winning championships... being committed to it and doing it are two separate things.

No.

Try somebody more like Mark Hudspeth.

Dudes with tons of potential like Morris and Wilson are going to stay FAR away from Ole Miss. Nobody wants to kill their career trying to clean up the incoming mess. Lane Kiffin won't want it either. He's already tried to be the guy that cleans up after a bunch of sanctions and he got fired for his efforts.

Did not read anything but the OP.. no established coach will touch that job. It will be some low assistant to fill in a few yrs then be fired. But if no one has mentioned the EMCC coach, i think he would be perfect

No way he would leave Memphis for Ole Miss. He will be at Memphis one or two more years before he lands a good job at a Power 5 school
