It really is incredible how stupid this statement is. What QB *doesn't* need to have a great supporting cast to succeed? Even Johnny Manziel is surrounded by talent on the offensive side of the football. He's got a 1st round OT blocking for him and a 1st round WR to throw to.

And I am willing to bet with how many franchises will be searching for a good serviceable QB, he has a good shot at getting drafted by a team who need a QB and will play him.

Really? As much as I love to annoy the Auburn fans on this board about that 2010 team, the offense had some talented players on it. For one you had a very experienced offensive line, and they had some incredibly good athletes at the skill positions: Dyer, McCalebb, Zachery, Adams, and Lutzenkirchen just to name a few.
Tim Tebow had Percy Harvin, Riley Cooper, and Aaron Hernandez to throw to in 2008/2009. Not to mention he had a couple of incredibly good offensive linemen in the Pouncey twins.

No no, A&M's o-line was mediocre and couldn't block SEC defenses, remember? It's been over a year, but you can't rewrite this shite now. Manziel was going to be a star regardless of who was blocking for him. This year proves that.
I think AJ has done enough to be a finalist this year, but he better not win the award. Enjoy your crystal trophies, AJ, and leave the Heisman to the Most Outstanding Player in CFB. You'll be lucky to even be in NYC that night.

Mario Fannin sucked as a running back, BTW. Mike Dyer and Onterio McCalebb were great for the offense, though.

Pollack has always been a moron.
My favorite example of this will always be from last year when he was arguing Manziel should not win the Heisman.
He said he didn't think a Heisman winner had even played in a bowl as low as the Cotton ergo Johnny was not deserving.
He said this with Lou Holtz sitting right next to him seemingly unaware that Lou coached Heisman winner Tim Brown in a Cotton Bowl.
On top of that, RG3 had won the Heisman the previous year with 3 losses, 2 being blowouts, and was in the Alamo Bowl which is much less prestigious than the Cotton. This also after saying Manziel's 2012 season wouldn't have even gotten him invited to NYC in 2011.
