It really is incredible how stupid this statement is. What QB *doesn't* need to have a great supporting cast to succeed? Even Johnny Manziel is surrounded by talent on the offensive side of the football. He's got a 1st round OT blocking for him and a 1st round WR to throw to.

Cam? Tebow?
And how many offensive players from A&M will go to the league. I don't know their team. 2 more great players doesn't equal a great supporting cast.

Fair enough

And I am willing to bet with how many franchises will be searching for a good serviceable QB, he has a good shot at getting drafted by a team who need a QB and will play him.

Cam was close but he had a senior laden OL and a couple good WRs and a fabulous TF RB (that was never heard from again )

Tebow's teams at UF were absolutely STACKED

try again

Really? As much as I love to annoy the Auburn fans on this board about that 2010 team, the offense had some talented players on it. For one you had a very experienced offensive line, and they had some incredibly good athletes at the skill positions: Dyer, McCalebb, Zachery, Adams, and Lutzenkirchen just to name a few.

Tim Tebow had Percy Harvin, Riley Cooper, and Aaron Hernandez to throw to in 2008/2009. Not to mention he had a couple of incredibly good offensive linemen in the Pouncey twins.

Tebow had a Top 5 team all 4 years.

Cam was a freak of nature, willed Auburn to a NC.

He also had three very good RBs in Dyer, McCalebb, and Fanin as well as a very solid wide receiver corps.

McCarron would be benched if he started for most teams. He's not a difference maker.

No no, A&M's o-line was mediocre and couldn't block SEC defenses, remember? It's been over a year, but you can't rewrite this shite now. Manziel was going to be a star regardless of who was blocking for him. This year proves that.

I think AJ has done enough to be a finalist this year, but he better not win the award. Enjoy your crystal trophies, AJ, and leave the Heisman to the Most Outstanding Player in CFB. You'll be lucky to even be in NYC that night.

Oh, now he had players surrounding him... I thought he was a once man show.

Mario Fannin sucked as a running back, BTW. Mike Dyer and Onterio McCalebb were great for the offense, though.

Pollack has always been a moron.

My favorite example of this will always be from last year when he was arguing Manziel should not win the Heisman.

He said he didn't think a Heisman winner had even played in a bowl as low as the Cotton ergo Johnny was not deserving.

He said this with Lou Holtz sitting right next to him seemingly unaware that Lou coached Heisman winner Tim Brown in a Cotton Bowl.

On top of that, RG3 had won the Heisman the previous year with 3 losses, 2 being blowouts, and was in the Alamo Bowl which is much less prestigious than the Cotton. This also after saying Manziel's 2012 season wouldn't have even gotten him invited to NYC in 2011.

Pollack likes to eat pork rinds and drink coffee for breakfast. Disgusting...

Let's not use two shitty defenses as a measuring stick.

Nick Marshall looked like Mike Vick against Texas A&M.

He looked pretty good against the #2 defense in America in the 2012 BCS National Championship Game. He won the award for Offensive MVP that night.

It was fricking Notre Dame. Everyone knew what was coming in that game. Let's not pretend like their defense was actually that good for the sake of argument.

As it relates to the Heisman, he is 100% right.

McCarron doesn't even belong in the top 5.

Wrong championship game. I'm talking about the one against LSU.

70.9 quarterback rating. He had a pretty good game and was the only logical selection for MVP. Nothing more.
