It also greatly depends on how the two divisions shape up as well. It looks like the East is going to steadily get better and I would guess that the West will continue to be the toughest division in football. We get to play each other every year so that also helps in future discussions.

Who knows?

If Bert goes 5-7 this year though, how long before Hog fans finally start holding him accountable for all those losses? Would not shock me to see Arkansas with new head coach in 3 years.

If he goes 5-7 next year it would take a 9-10 win regular season to keep him in 2018.

You took that short bus to school didn't you?

Well, Mizzou was overdue for a retarded poster. No shame on them. They still have some of the best posters on the forum.

From what I can see they are very similar programs that have both had periods where they were very good and some stretches where they weren't so good.

The odd thing is... Arkansas despises that loathsome school in Austin. Mizzou hates those creepy Jayhawks. But when you get right down to it Mizzou and Arkansas have more in common then they do with their arch-rivals.

With any luck this becomes the best friendly rivalry in the SEC.

This is the SEC. Save Alabama, Vandy and Kentucky, the same could be said for any program. I'd have NEVER figured Richt to be let go after last season, but there's the perfect example.

I agree with you, and would even go so far to say say 2 years (especially if we drop games to LSU, A&M, and State)

I like how this break down is a little different than the one you did historically. Wonder why that is?

You still havent asnwered the question about Alabama conceding the 1964 National Championship to Arkansas either...I also wonder why that is?

There are a lot of coaches that might be fired with some "if" seasons

If Arkansas goes 11-2 maybe he'd get coach of the year

I think it was Bill Hicks that said Missouri is the only state Arkansas can make fun of.

Make fun of a state with good fortune 500 companies, about 6 million people, 1 metro area around 2mil, another metro area around 3mil. Pro sports teams, nice stadiums, major freeways, airports. Don't get why Arkansas would make fun of Missouri over Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, other smaller states.

ETA: Arkansas better program in regards to football, basketball, baseball, track, etc. Also throw in facilities, donations for sports.

1964, Alabama was beaten by Texas in their last game (bowl)

Arkansas had already beaten Texas and beat an unbeaten Nebraska
in a bowl, and remained undefeated. AP chose the NC before anybody
played their bowl game. (Alabama) Grantland Rice NC was chosen after the bowl season. (Arkansas)

If "School yell conjures images of poor Ned Beatty's mostly nude, mud-covered body" is a category, I'd sadly have to tip the cap to Arky.
