Verne is the man. Not sure why people hate him. Same people probably hate Jim Ross, and that is just UnAmerican.

They are both like John Madden.
"Well, I think that the team that scores the most points is going to win the game."
They go into great detail of the most basic things as if the audience are all Europeans who don't watch football.
Other than that, they're fine.

IMO, the best football commentators are the SNF crew on NBC...Chris Collinsworth and Al Michaels.
