That is really cool. If you have a vehicle, I also really liked The Commissary in Germantown. Safe area, too. I also like Interstate BBQ.(though only been to the one in the airport, since I haven't had the pleasure to go back in 14 years). Anyone know if they still have old time pharmacy in the Collierville Square. Always LOVED their milkshakes as a kid.
Do be careful driving. I love Memphis, but I swear everyone got their license from a cracker jack box.

see Eric at the BBQ Shop

^This. If you want the best BBQ in town at the moment, go to the BBQ Shop or Central. Both are an easy drive from the stadium.

If the weather is nice, check out the Zoo. It has been ranked in the top 10 in the nation for the last 5-6 years. Made No 1 at least once in that time. They may still have Zoo Lights after Christmas, and they have ice skating, if you are into that.

Check out Beal at night and South Main, Cooper-Young, or Overton Square during the day. All are safe, despite the comments from the peanut gallery here.

If the Memphis Grizzlies are in town (12/30 vs Spurs- Should be a great game), I highly recommend taking in a game at the Forum. They are one of the top teams in the league so far this season.

As for the stadium, the new Tiger Lane is actually a nice place to tailgate if you get there early. If you don't and have to park elsewhere, go North. South of the stadium starts to get rough quick. The board of Education has a large lot and it may be free to park in.

People love to take shots at Memphis because crime is really bad in certain areas. However, I feel safer in the Liberty Bowl parking lot or around FedEx Forum than I ever did outside the main part of the French Quarter, or close to that dump of a stadium in Little Rock that Arkansas plays in.

Pack guns n ammo, don't leave anything in your vehicle, or all windows will be smashed if you park down town after dark. Some good food to be had though!...GL.

Park in a garage downtown and you won't have to worry about that. If you are hanging out around Beal, use the Forum or Peabody Place. They are safe and and have cameras and security.
