There's always a first time for everything. Very few QBs with ratings lower than 90 make it in these days. Favre may be the last one if not Eli.

Eli will get in, especially if the giants make another run before his career is over.
They'll have to get a new OL though, Eli has been eating grass every play for the last 2 seasons

To me, Eli belongs to that category of players that include Shaun Alexander. They've done remarkable things but haven't really established a HoF resume.

Like I said, whether he deserves to be in or not, he will be in it because:
1.he is a 2x superbowl winning qb
2.he is a 2x superbowl MVP qb
3. He's done this in new York where everything is over idolized.
4. He was involved in one of the most historic upsets ever
5. Both superbowl wins came against the best qb, coach, and consistent franchise of the salary cap era.
6. Both superbowls he lead clutch game winning drives creating awesome historic superbowl moments.

Johnny Robinson
9× All Star/All Pro
57 Ints (which still ranks him in the tied for 12th all time, and he played in the running era.)

I am still trying to figure out how Derrick Thomas is in the pro football hall of fame and not the college football hall of fame. The numbers he put up at Alabama are staggering and will never be matched by another Bama player ever.
+1
Op's question:
Cornelius Bennett

Lester Hayes-Dude transformed the CB position and they banned stickem because of him. The term "shutdown corner" is partly attributed to him. His 1980 Season is probably the best ever by an NFL DB, he was NFL DPOY, had 13 pics in the regular season and 5 more in the playoffs and got a Super Bowl ring. He also got another ring in '83 when he and Michael Haynes shutdown the vaunted Redskin passing attack with Joe Theismann and Art Monk in their prime.

I didn't realize Hayes wasn't in the HOF. Loved watching him play as a kid.

Lester was just a certifiable bad arse. He loved to line up right on the LOS with a receiver looking like this:

Bennett, maybe Alexander one day. Also, I'm sure one day Eddie Lacey.

After he retires, I can foresee having this convo a/b John Abraham. He'll be way up on the All-Time Sacks List (top 10).
