Stromboli's is garbage unless you like sweet pizza sauce and sweet crust. Dave's Darkhorse pizza is where its at... You have options of NY style or Chicago Style. It is better in everyway. Plus they have craft beer, great wings, and gyros You also won't run into the fratty kids cause it is a dive bar and definitely not a hipster bar. Bulldog burger is supposed to really good have yet to make it. Lil Dooey's BBQ is good the bin 612 is good. Everything will be packed. trust me check out Dave's unless you are looking for a something that caters to 8 year old kids. There are 2 great coffee places if it is overnight trip. The high end dining locations are nothing to rave, but not absurdly expensive and still pretty good.

Check out a little place called Stromboli's for the best pizza you'll ever have on the side of the Atlantic.
Then you have missed a bunch of really good restaurants that aren't that far out of the way. These are just 2 that come to mind:
Hog & Hominy

This is correct in every way. Dave's is the best place in Starkville.

hog and hominy is garbage too... burnt my food 3 times. Told me the frito pie was gonna be something else except a tiny bag of fritos with crappy chili. I've been like 5 facking times loud as crap food is overpriced garbage and service is quite possibly worst i've had everywhere in memphis and i've eaten pretty much every place the last 7 years multiple times. I won't go back even if someone pays me 500 dollars.

Lots of BBQ, and whiskey/beer. Mix in some obnoxious loud music, and did I mention BBQ and whiskey/beer?

Last time we went to Starkville, we played golf Friday and Sunday. Great time.

-Get a villa at Old Waverly. Saturday a.m. tee time. Hit the bloody-mary cart
-Head to game. Browse the tailgates, sip your booze of choice
-More booze of choice, hit 2 Brothers and enjoy a cigar after meal.
-Grab a coffee and a smear at City Bagel Sunday on the way out of town. (The Biscuit Shop is best breakfast in town, imo. But you're not getting any food after 7 am. They sell out and close for the day)
That's a damn fine MSU game week-end

That would be a fantastic weekend if villas were available.

Can you not do that anymore? Or are they booked so far out?
The week-end that Oregon came to town was one of my favorites in my Bulldog Fan history. Waverly had flags with a big green O hanging from several decks. We played golf and gambled with those crazy sob's for 2 straight days. Should have skipped that arse-beating of a football game and just played more golf

Only thing from my many visits that I can agree with you on is the place is very loud. Maybe they just don't like you?

You should expect a lot of hyperboles and over exaggerations from fans that haven't been to Starkville in the last 5-10 years.
