It's OK, but nothing will ever take the play of the live bands...one of the stables of college football.

It's kinda of funny that I'm typing this smack talk to Bama when I'm only 30 minutes away from the campus itself. Don't hunt me down Harvey!

I went to the LSU/Alabama game this year and didn't hear their band once outside of kickoff and half time. I'm not sure if it was my position in the stadium but it was something that caught my attention.

Where were you sitting? BDS is an acoustic nightmare for bands.

As an LSU fan, you should appreciate piped in music seeing as how NFL stadiums do it.

One time I went to ole miss and some black dude was running around in front of the student section with a microphone.
Lol, band does suck.

I despise the piped in music.
Tiger stadium has turned into a fricking rap concert with a football game in between.
Outside the students and some old trashy skanks who still think they are 20, it looks like it pretty much annoys everyone else.

Let me guess, on your way to Florida for Christmas?
I'm gonna hunt down you and your Chevy Cruze and me and my monster truck are gonna run your Yankee arse into a ditch.

I think your average D1 band is pretty boring. The ones in the are cool, just because there's a big band. But I wish they'd take more after the historic black college, and funk it up. The song selections are old fashioned, military based songs. Hire some funky, innovative band directors, and people would love it. But since the songs sick, you get the band geek stigmata, instead of what you have in New Orleans. There, kids join the band to help pick up girls, not avoid it because it's considered nerdy.

I am not a fan of piped in music at all. The bands are part of what define the college football experience. It's also nice to have some unorchestrated moments for spontaneous fan behavior, or to actually talk to the people you're sitting with.

It goes along with things that don't seem right about a college football game. I remember when we played at Lesion Field. It sucked and wasn't like a real home game.

Bands are a big part of college football. Need more not less. LSU telling visiting bands not to come so. Rock band can play two songs is a bad message to send.

Yeah you're not going to hear the MDB in the stands from that angle. I sat in the student section (which is at the opposite corner of where you sat) and I couldn't hear LSU's band, or really any band who sets over there no matter how big they are.

I wish they'd move the band behind one of the endzone, similar to what LSU did for your band. I understand that their not directly behind the endzone, but at least they're facing most of the stadium, instead of at an angle like we currently are.

I don't enjoy the games as much as I used too because of the piped in music. But if it helps us recruit, so be it.

Exactly!

And let's remember there are a lot of people who go to games for the social aspect and don't care that much about the game. I mean I'm not that way but some people are.

No, I doubt they give much of a shite. Just seems silly to bend over backwards so much for recruits nowadays that we diminish some of the traditions that make CFB great.

Part of the environment which makes college football enjoyable is the band. Piped in music will soon have college stadiums looking like NFL crowds.

I think a few NFL teams have a small band at the games, or at least a drumline.

The Redskins come to mind, and I think the Patriots do.
