Exactly what I was expecting. I've posed this question since they joined the conference.

Well, the west was arguably down this season, and the east is coming back. I think it's safe to say any job in the SEC is tougher than in any other league.
As far as us being better than Kentucky, time will tell. But we're a bigger state, bigger population, bigger school, bigger endowment. No in-state competition for recruits. And we've had better results than Kentucky with lower investment (I believe) in football over the past several years. Our AD, boosters and fans are more motivated than any any time in our history. We didn't move to the SEC to be a cupcake team - we are committed to being competitive.
Go ahead and underestimate us though. Please.

Posing a question for which there is no known outcome is a good way to get smart-arse responses. Like I said, time will tell.

Missouri will make more of a commitment to football than Kentucky ever thought about.

I swear.. Will y'all and TAMU stop talking about endowments in relation to athletics.
You make somewhat solid of a point. More population than Kentucky with 11% minority population while Kentucky has only 8%.
However, how do you counteract that with Arkansas and Tennessee with 17% minority and much closer to the deep south talent?

By reminding people that South Carolina and Mississippi are pretty purple in that map. South Carolina is a paltry (what) 13 games over .500 in their history, Ole Miss is what? .550? Mississippi State?
You'd think that someone from Arkansas would understand there's a lot more to the game than the things you mention. Especially after last year.

11% of 6.0M=
17% of 2.9M=
You're welcome. You're solidly in the troll zone at this point.

Meanwhile, the SEC West will be picking up the Heisman and another National Championship (4 Straight with 5 appearances)

We are talking resources which I thought was common sense.
Mississippi has the same population as Arkansas yet is 32%. The only difference in Arkansas and Mississippi is they have more average players play in the SEC while the NFL talent from both states is the same at 20 since 2005.
Missouri did a great job making up for resources with Texas talent because they played a lot of football in that state much like Arkansas did in the SWC and was much closer.
How do you replace that when you are playing in many different states now and really far north?

Correct. Therefore, you'll have about the same in-state talent as Tennessee and Arkansas. Yet you are much farther north away from the deep south talent.

You've got any number of faulty premises. They're fascinating. But still faulty.
If I was coaching at Mizzou, I wouldn't just be trying to take Southern talent and bring it North. I'd recruit the top players in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and targeted other locales. "You can stay in the Midwest, leave home and play in the SEC."

When our staff focused on developing ties in Texas, it took time but we started getting some good recruits out of that state, some of whom are in the NFL now. We'll still recruit Texas, and have already started establishing some ties in the deep south. We will get our southern recruiting in place. And to a kid coming from Georgia or Florida, it's not necessarily a farther drive.
We will manage to recruit well, don't worry about us. Why are you trolling us anyway?

Best answer ever and it was exactly what I was looking for.
Since 2005..
Illinois put 32 players in the NFL.
That is more than Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi while comparing it to Alabama which had 46. These are high school players from each state that went to the NFL.
I don't think Pinkel is the man to recruit at Missouri. Missouri won't out recruit Arkansas for Texas kids, everything being equal, just as Arkansas kids would never win over kids from Illinois.

Clearly, that idiot is a beaker--any combo of adult bookstores, walnut bowls, meth (eventhough kansas has more users per capita) or fireworks is taken directly from the beaker talking points. Disregard the d-bag.

Impossible! Illinois has 33% more black people than Alabama.
As I said, dumb premise is dumb.

Because Kentucky doesn't give a frick about football, let's be honest. I would go as far to say the Kentucky program's attractiveness as a football school are almost 100% a result of being apart of the SEC. I think Kentucky would take 4 BBALL championships over football every day all day.
