Gary Pinkel on Mauk suspension: "I think it's always difficult to suspend a player and what happens, generally, something's happened severe enough to get a suspension...you know, we did Sheldon Richardson, we probably would have won a football game a couple years ago if I didn't suspend Sheldon Richardson for a game, for an academic issue.
What we do, and I think our players have great respect for it, I protect the integrity of the program. And we're going to be who we are, and we're going to do the right thing, and we're not going to manipulate things - 'Well, we can get by with this and play him and get by and discipline him in another way' - we don't do that. We have rules we abide by, and everybody lives by the same rules. I think overall, overall that's helped us build our football program."

Then again, who really cares.

How long did he suspend himself for the DWI?

Mauk is a liability so far this year.

One game actually. Our defensive coordinator coached the game against Texas Tech, Pinkel sat it out.

The AD suspended him for one week without pay and GP donated 50k to the MU Wellness Center.

Georgia and Kentucky have the strictest policies in the SEC
Vanderbilt has a Honor Code instituted in 1875
On the other side, some schools play it pretty loose
Not sure where Mizzou ranks in the food chain. Since you went to Vandy, how would you compare the two?

Ok. So I've noticed lately Mizzou is doing this "we have more integrity than the rest of the SEC" thing. Which is usually Georgia's schtick. I would recommend backing off, it will blow up in your face. It's worth noting that Auburn used to act the same way. Yes, Auburn.

I don't like to measure ourselves versus other schools.
I do feel like we typically make a good decision regardless of the on the field outcomes. I'd say the exception was the first allegation against Mike Dixon for rape which was back in 2009.
The rest of the time, I think we've don't a decent job of letting kids know they're not above the rules.

You don't really care what that report says or the circumstances of the report. It's good flame material. Kudos.
