Cute lol Nutter field house practice facility which is connected to our new practice facility gives us a total of 148,000 square feet. That's 3,000 more square feet than Tenn's. Someone is butt hurt.

Tennessee's are connected as well. The Anderson Training Center is 145,000 sq. ft on its own. If you include the adjoined indoor facility with the indoor field and coaches offices, etc. (Neyland Thompson Sports Center), the football facility is 265,000 sq. ft.

I wish theyd kept it more in line with the classic red brick/white trim theme from the rest of the campus. But overall a very cool new facility. Glad to see it.

The limestone facade is in line with what fans wanted because it screams Kentucky. Same was done to the exterior of Commonwealth. It creates continuity. The red brick and white trim is more in line with the heart of campus around Euclid and Rose. Most everything on the stadium end is like exterior of Kirwan and Blanding. Have you been on campus recently at all? The sheer amount of construction makes it at times unrecognizable. I shed a tear when I go by where K - lair once stood....spicy chicken and biscuits are no more!

Does UT determine the square footage of their facilities the way they do the seating capacity of Neyland Stadium?

I guess we are claiming the 51 title. Looks like they got it for the new facility.

Actually no, its been a few years since I graduated. Havent been back to campus since Commonwealth was redone. Heard a bunch of new dorms went up too.

I've been back to Lex a few times for weddings and family events, but they were whirlwind trips with no time for bumming around campus. Thinking about taking a long weekend to go to Keeneland this fall though.

Campus is totally different. Re-did business school, chemistry building, new student center and book store (going up right now), and all new dorms...the are about to bring down Blanding Towers...the athletic facilities are like the new football training facility...with the limestone facade and silver...they are about to break ground next fall for the baseball stadium next to the redone soccer and softball stadium. Alumni Drive was redone and flows much better and safer. I heard the amount spent on campus is over $3 billion in improvements and new facilities.

Has that decision been finalized? I heard of a proposal to renovate the towers and use them for office space and low income student housing.

Dude won't recognize most of the campus. The crowning glory will be the new student center on Avenue of Champions.
