Baylor should in no way be above TCU. Their schedule is awful. I think the committee makes them pay for it.
One thing I am sure of is that Baylor will be outside the Top 4 tonight. 100% confident in that

Agreed.
I really think the committee is gonna have Michigan State a lot higher than people think. I see most people projecting them around 7. I think they're top 4. If they're not, then they'll be 5, with Ohio State and TCU 3 and 4.

Eyeball test is bullsnit.
Who have you played. Who have you beat. What was your loss, if any.

Eyeball test isn't what they use to judge.
They won on the road at Michigan, and they challenged themselves out of conference against Oregon. Yes, Oregon isn't as good as they have been, but they could end up being an 8-win team from a pretty solid conference.

Smartest, yes. She's a brilliant, accomplished person. Most qualified?
Aside from the fact that she's a football fan and her dad was a coach she has absolutely no special qualification aside from the fact that she was involved with Willingham's hire at Stanford. My entire point in that post was that there are a lot of people on the selection committee that are no more qualified than your average SEC ranter so don't be surprised if their rankings are off the wall

Let's keep in mind that Condoleezza Rice is on the selection committee. Literally anything can happen. I expect the rankings to be a huge "what the frick" for most people this week
Rice knows a lot about football and watches it as well. I did not see a problem with her being on the committee.

My approximation. Last year, the committee had a much easier time ranking the top 4 as there were only 2 undefeateds left at this point in the season. This year is wayyyy more difficult. I think they look at strength of loss for the 1 loss teams as well as strength of schedule overall. I think it will shake down pretty close to this. I also feel this is not with a homer view. While our OOC strength of schedule is not great, I believe no one has a better victory than we do over florida (unless the committee feels notre dame was a better victory for clemson) and certainly no one has a better second victory than we do with Miss. St. IF they put Clemson ahead of us than flip Notre Dame and Florida.
I normally don't think that polls matter much until the end, but this poll will give us a guide into the committee's thought process on who has the most wiggle room. JMO

1) Clemson - Looking good is all phases
2) Michigan St - Oregon is down, but Michigan win picks up the hype slack.
3) LSU - I really wonder if the rainout game will hurt them.
4) TCU - Minnesota win making some difference right now.
5) Iowa - have some decent wins if you actually look at their results
6) Ohio State - Looking better now, but early struggles will be noted
7) Baylor - No P5 OOC opponents.
8) Oklahoma St - Still undefeated
9) Alabama - A loss hurts
10) Notre Dame - Clemson loss....but still very much alive.
Excited to see the 1-loss teams and Memphis in the rankings
