10-5 against bama. That's pretty solid!

Fulmer had Bama's number at first. Even in 93 and 94, with significantly less talent, Fulmer managed to give Bama a tie and a very close game. Then he beat pretty good Bama teams in 95, 96, and 99. So it wasn't just that Bama was down for much of his tenure, he genuinely had a winning formula against the Tide. Glad Tennessee canned him with such little cause.

I thought that you're Phillip Fulmer, OP.

Or at least that's what you claim in your username.

Not that I think there'll be a UT Bama rematch. I assume UT will go 7-5.

But is Fulmer really biased in favor of Ut? Considering that UT fired him?

Surprised Phil hasn't been inducted into some sort of honorary Citrus Bowl committee. He's the Bowl's greatest hero and all the Buffalo Wild Wings you can eat.

Seems like a win win.

People who criticize Fulmer's firing forget just how bad Tennessee was at the time he was fired. He was 29-21 his last 4 years.

Granted that his firing hasn't helped the Vols. But that's the result of the hirings UT's made since he was canned. Not the result of Fulmer's canning.

Fulmer's last 4 years
2005 : 5-6
2006 : 9-4 (rehired Cutcliffe)
2007 : 10-4
2008 : 5-7 (Cutcliffe gone)
Overall : 29-21 (17-15 SEC)

vs Florida : 0-4
vs Alabama : 1-3
vs Georgia : 2-2
vs South Carolina : 2-2

He's been around the program quite a bit lately and seems to have a good relationship with Butch, which wasn't the case with Kiffin and Dooley. All the people involved with firing Fulmer are now gone.

History will forever remember Fulmer as owning the Crimson Tide. He pulled off Saban-esque type run over them from 94-06.

He's been inducted into something, it's called the College Football HOF. I love the gumps still get so rustled by the thought of him

I still wonder why y'all canned him. I know 2007-08 weren't great but you weren't gonna dominate Bama forever. Don't care who the coach was. He gave y'all a fighting chance though. Last year was the first year u put up any kind of resistance.

I also know that some off the field stuff later became a problem. Phil interviewing a girl who claimed she'd been raped before the police talked to her being one. The way he got the job was always kind of shitty to me. Ask majors about how it went down.

Vol fans celebrate 7 year streaks from the 90s and early 2000s. Meanwhile, Alabama is currently on a 9-game winning streak, and holds the record in the rivalry for longest win streak (11).

Love the rivalry though
