From all accounts Barker could redshirt this year because Towles

Would probably be a good move, if true. Give him a year to learn the system and get comfortable.

The beauty of Steele's rankings is that it is 100% a projection of what he thinks will happen in 2014.

People always bitch and complain when people make a projection based on prior year results, but when someone like Steele tries to make an educated projection he gets ripped apart.

Anyways, I'd make some changes, but overall an interesting list.

Phil's list are projections. It is all about how he thinks it will look after the season is over.

The guy takes way too much heat. There's a reason why he's been in business for so long in a free market. Hint: it's not because he sucks.

As they should be.

tSEC will return to being a defense league

Think it was pretty much guaranteed to be a defensive league this season. Not a single quarterback on the list is as good as one of the 4Ms from last season. This projection reads like an "eh, gotta pick somebody" list in the QB column.

And S. I mean, if Shaw was returning, he would be hands-down the best QB in the SEC next year (at least preseason wise).

Still, there are some glaring issues with his list despite it being a projection. I see no reason why he would have Golightly ahead of Skai Moore who was Freshman All-SEC and second team Freshman All-American.

Golightly was second team All-SEC last year. It makes sense why he is ahead of Moore.

Wait...Connor was a real person? I always thought he was, like, a metaphor for OBC's personality or something. A spook story coaches tell their Garcia-wannabes at night. You know, the whole "piss me off and I'll replace you with Kojak" sort of thing.

But, yeah, if he's real, then he would definitely head the list. He was highly underrated, given that he managed to make the most of his opportunities despite somewhat limited physical gifts. I'd have taken him on my team in a heartbeat. Probably over at least one of the Ms, even.

I don't care the hype. No freshman should be on this list.

Especially not when talking about a position of strength for the conference, like RB, and he's leaving off such proven runners as Drake and (assuming he doesn't RS) Marshall.

Yea, that makes it worse.
Now I hope LF turns in that type of season, but let him get his first, 1st down in college.

Damian Swann wouldn't have made the 20th team last year. For him to make 2nd Pruitt has to be really good.

Wouldn't be surprised if he makes it. Nobody is going to be throwing to his side this year. He'll project the image of a shutdown CB.

Plus, look at some 2012 film of him. He's not as bad as he looked at times last year. He got abused against Mizzou, though. Over and over.

Marshall is running without a brace, and at least for now, indicates he does not expect a red shirt.

That said, Fournette will get more opportunities than drake and Marshall. he will be the main offensive weapon at LSU, so i think he should be where he was put. he will have the opportunity to put up 1300 yards and a boatload of TDs. Just my opinion, since we all have one!

He played pretty well at the nickel back position in 2012, but hearing some of the differences between what Pruitt teaches them compared to Grantham makes me think there is a chance he can be a pretty decent corner. My personal favorite last year was when our defensive backs would run fifteen yards back and stop, so they couldn't cover a 10 yard hitch, but also got beat deep on every long throw. It is truly unbelievable that Louisville is paying $1 million for that.
