Some stones will be thrown here because it is about one school in particular, but this is about academic integrity extensively discussed a few days ago.
With some exceptions most that chimed in seem to don't mind if players/coaches are a bunch of illiterate, steroid using, women raping assholes as long as they can play. It is perfectly OK to admit them, have other people do their work and for universities to extend them degrees.

Arkansas has an athletic academic support staff who the head coach checks in with.
The head coach doesn't necessarily have to check in with players, but he did meet with them while here. I know one player personally who had his grades dip that Petrino did meet with.
Petrino is flat out lying, which isn't much of a surprise.
The athletic academic center is in the damn east side of the stadium. Give me a flicking break Petrino.

Ditto. Can't really take offense to it because I didn't really take it as a shot at tFlagship.
But yeah, I wouldn't send my kid to play for him. He already got in hot water at WKU for having medical staff gloss over injuries and fired their trainer for not playing along.

He's never had to build and sustain a program, which is why we're an absolute dumpster fire right now.
We literally had like 5 guys on our 2-deep this year from our 2010, 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes. Three freaking classes that had enormous washout/miss rates. Ironically, Petrino's best two years here were when he was absolutely phoning it in with recruiting. That position a hired Jessica Dorrell to? Yeah, it was a legitimate, important recruiting position. He wasn't even trying.

I agree. If he really said this, I view it as an taking an underhanded shot at Jeff Long due to his focus on student athletes and education. In essence, it also tells me that Bobby Petrino is harboring some resentment, and not entirely owning up in a responsible manner for his own mistakes. Not only that, any responsible coach wouldn't have to be made aware of the importance of students attending class. I'm afraid his character flaws appear to be deeply seeded.
If he fails to keep things in check, he will self-destruct.

I am starting to realize that if Jeff Long had given Bobby Petrino another chance, it would have evolved into more of the same old shite. Up until the past couple of days, I have defended his sorry arse. No more. I don't care how good he is at coaching. And he is good.
