Somebody pointed out on another board that Petrino mentioned one of the doctors was there who performed his "neck surgery last year".

Does anybody remember anything at all about a neck surgery?

Petrino is a private dude, and some of the media here dislikes him for it.

I just saw the PC video I did not know he had a brace on. He looks like he is very lucky. I am thinking he may not give up the bikes but may give up riding solo now.

I was curious about that too.

Another thing I was wondering...it looks like he landed on his face. If he cracked C-2 b/c his chin touched his chest...would a helmet possibly make it worse? They save the brain but don't do much for your neck. The weight of a helmet would definitely put more stress on the neck. I just wonder if that extra weight could have caused the vertebra to completely fail. Scary as frick.

Edit: Since I posted the above I looked it up and there actually is an argument about helmet weight and neck injuries.

They make neck braces/collars all the way up to HANS devices to cure this problem in motorsports... Price range between $20-3500.

He should get the $3500. He can def afford it.

On another note, look at this dickhead from AJC tweeting about wanting more pics of Petrino. Talking about karma and shite. He's making fun of someone almost getting killed or paralyzed. I think this is a hell of a lot worse than anything Petrino has ever done. Jeffy is the one who should be worried about karma.

Damn, he is scuffed up. I'm glad no major injuries were suffered. Godspeed to Bobby P.

he had never ridden out that way before. He said he always turned around at Elkins High. That's a bit before all the really tricky curves and hills start.

Literally, it's flat as the Texas Panhandle from S. Fayetteville to Elkins, road is wide and smooth. Once you get past Elkins the road narrows a bit, if you go up towards Huntsville through Wesley it'll get a little hilly and curvy but nothing like going out towards Crosses and Deer, once you get on 23 it's like a Hell in a Cell match with the Undertaker. Hwy 21 is a SOB too. Hwy 7 is just as crooked as the Red Elephant Club.

Great Riding but it's no joke, and I'm guilty of it I like to drive those roads aggressively too, I can't ease back, I just keep having to push the envelope. I'm sure Coach is wired like that too.

They are simply too dangerous for my liking. Personally, my obligations to my family (and work to a lesser extent) are why I don't have one.

That said, they can be loads of fun.

I liked them when I was younger. Too many responsibilities these days.

Many. Pulled myself out of bunches at the last moment too. Couldn't tell ya how many times I've zoomed down Hwy 16 W. of Fville to Wedington or Jackson Hwy and back through dirt roads drunker than anyone would believe.

The only times I wrecked was when I had to get my Hardee's hot ham & cheese sammiches (about 6 times). I was good for 30 minutes worth of driving then the carbs would hit me and I'd fall asleep and wake up in a ditch with my truck/car smashed up. I'd also take 265 around Prairie Grove to Hogeye and back through Skylight Mtn to avoid Farmington, PG, Lincoln cops.

Never got into any trouble til I moved to town. Neighbors tend to call the cops on ya when you crash through their yards.

"Sorry for partying."

Sounds exactly like my teen years growing up in Farmington. I know every dirt road out there like the back of my hand from late night driving.

I saw a pic in an avatar of Petrino in a neck brace and banged up. Is that real? If so can someone point out the page for the full size pic.
