Yes we should definitely kick Auburn out of the SEC if they hire that whore. If those bastards knew what was good for them, they'd hire Charlie Strong. The Plantation sure will do anything to win.

'08 and '09 there was a huge disparity in talent b/w Arkansas and Alabama.
'10 the playing field was more even, and Petrino coached a good enough game to beat Saban. Arkansas threw for over 350 yards, but Mallett threw two terrible interceptions at crucial points that blew the lead we had for 3/4 of the game.
'11 we had several injuries and were breaking in a new o-line in Tyler Wilson's first start on the road against Bama's national championship team.
Give Petrino time to accumulate talent in a more advantageous recruiting area and he would get some wins over Saban.
edit: This is assuming he will be able to get a decent coaching staff in place despite the baggage he brings and the lack of trust other coaches could have in him.

Really, the PR hit will be huge if Auburn hires Petrino. If say, UT, hired him, there would be some blowback for a year, then if he wins, all will be forgotten.
Auburn hires him, we'll hear about Jetgate for as long as he's there if not longer. It won't rest. Coming on the heels of the Cam Newton saga, the robbery 4 and all the other bad press they've gotten the past two years, I'd say it isn't worth it.
Auburn is a good job. They can hire a good coach. Petrino is a good coach, but not the right fit.
If they could land Smart, it would be a home run, IMO.
Taggart would be a good hire.
